Captain’s 5 Wicket Haul

Bees U12s v Sheppy July 2019

On Thursday 4th July the Bapchild Bees under 12 squad played Sheppey Barbarians at home in a league game. Bees captain Cameron Lynch lost the toss and Sheppey decided to bat first on a hard fast wicket.  Bees started well with Cameron taking 3 early wickets and Tom Flannagan supporting him well by picking up a wicket in his 2 over spell. With 2 overs to go Cameron came back on to bowl and picked up 2 more wickets in a very impressive spell of bowling . But Sheppey had put bat to ball and still scored and impressive 287 0ff their allotted 16 overs.

The Bees batted sensibly but were restricted in their chase by some decent bowling from the Sheppey team and lost wickets consistently through the innings. Pick of the Bees batsmen were young Joshua Ingram batting with confidence and ease that surpassed his age.   Shot of the night went to young Franklin Smith with a majestic cut for 4 through point.   A young Bees side this season are giving it their all and the future is looking good with a lot of these players still eligible to play in the age bracket for the next 2 seasons.

Cameron Lynch finished with figures of 3 overs 5 wickets for 21 runs and now gets to keep the match ball.  Well done to all who played on the night and to parents and supporters who help make the colts cricket such an enjoyable evening.
