Two’s End first half of the season on top


The 2nd XI continued their winning as the first half of the season came to a close

Playing Ashford Town away the home team elected to bat and got off to a good start with an opening partnership of 81 until Alan Hampton (2 for 22 off 10 overs) made the break through with some great pressure bowling. Lee Cogger  (3 for 55) ensured wickets to continued to fall as the opposition continued to add runs. Will Cosstick run out the opening who was on 100 at the time as the team managed to restrict the them to 233 for 7 off their allocated overs

John Heatley (54) and Simon Cosstick (40) matched the visitors by putting on 85 for the first wicket.  Alan Hampton (49)  just missed out on back to back 50’s and was supported well by Lincoln Bryden (23) and it took James Longhurst (12no) and William Cosstick (21no) to cross the line with 35 balls and 4 wickets to spare.

The 2nd XI remain top of Division 4 losing only one game in the first half of the season

The first XI played Frindsbury at home and elected to bat.  Captain Ricky Dale (52)  hit form and although others supported (Tom Carey 23, Lee Taylor 23) the team found themselves all out for 173 in the 47th over.

Owen Harrison (1 for 30) picked up an early wicket but the target was never enough and Frindsbury reached ti total in the 40th over with six wickets to spare

The 3rd XI travelled to Milstead and was put into the field.  Ashley Bax (2 for 50) Daniel Gunner (2 for 36) and Steve Pumfrett (2 for 57) all picked up a brace as the home team reached 217 for 7 in their 40 overs

Nathan Glazier (28) got the team of to a good start but records fell regularly.  Daniel Gunner (39) and Richard Philips (33) put up  a good challenge but the team found themselves all out for 189 in 34 over

The Sunday team didn’t have a game this week
