TRANSPORTING CHILDREN TO AND FROM MATCHES AND TRAINING POLICY

Transporting Children to and from Matches & Training Policy

This policy covers the transporting of children (under the age of 18 years) to and from matches and training sessions.

  • It is the responsibility of parents/guardians/carers for the safe delivery and collection of their child for matches or training.

  • It is not the responsibility of the coach or team manager to transport, or arrange to transport, the children to and from the club or match.

  • Coaches and club staff will be responsible for children in their care when on the club premises or on arrival at opponents’ cricket grounds.

  • The Club will make available all planned fixtures or competitions at the beginning of the season to provide parents/guardians/carers with an opportunity to make appropriate arrangements.

  • As part of registration the parent/guardian/carer will be required to grant permission for their child to participate in all competitions and away fixtures/events.

  • Parents/guardians/carers should arrive shortly before the time agreed for the event and its their responsibility to ensure that a coach or club staff member is aware their child is present particularly if the parent/guardian/carer is not staying for the event.

  • Parents/guardians/carers should arrive before the end of an event and are responsible for collecting their child and ensuring that the coach or club staff member is aware that they have collected their child.

  • A child should NOT leave the premises/ground by their own accord or wait on the road to be picked up unless they have parental permission to do so. Where this is the case they should inform a Club Representative that they are leaving and that permission has been given. The Club Representative should confirm that permission has been given.

  • In the event of a parent/guardian/carer being delayed in picking their child up or the pick-up arrangement changes (e.g. different person) they should contact the coach or a club staff member and inform them so appropriate adjustments/arrangements can be made.
