Inter-Club game nice way to finish season
With light fading on Thursday evenings it was decided to end the season on a Sunday morning with an inter-club game.
Joshua Rose and Noah Jones captained the two sides and kept wicket respectively. Joshua won the toss and invited Noah’s team to bat first on a hard fast track.
All pairs batted sensibly and straight losing only 3 wickets at close of innings scoring a respectable 269 runs. Wickets were shared out one a piece by Sidney Nicholls, Charlie Crittenden and Saharsh Kopperla with Elliott Chapman being the top score with 13
Joshua opened the batting with a top score of 18 backed up by Saharsh Kopperla (17) but the team lost wickets on a regular basis which in the end cost them the match as Joshua’s team ended up a 3 short on 266 for 9 wickets at the close of play.
Pick of the bowlers was Katie Kennard with 2 overs 3 wickets for only 8 runs in a superb spell
A lovely way to end the season and everyone had a fun time including parents and grand parents who attended. Thank you all for a great season.
