Bees Buzzing after good win

Bees v Sheppey - May 2018

On a cool evening at Eastchurch the Bapchild Bees met Sheppey in their second league game of the season. Bapchild skipper Finn Taylor lost the toss and Bapchild were invited to bat first.

Will Surridge opened the batting with Archie Covey and they put on a good start after their 4 overs with 32 runs on the board with some big hitting by Archie Covey dispatching the bad ball away to the boundary ropes on a number of occasions.

Daisy Conway and Harry Wimborne-Roberts batted sensibly picking up singles and collecting extras from the Sheppey bowling attack .Will Foster and George Ward took some risky singles in their partnership but all in all survived while collecting runs.

Captain Finn Taylor and debutant Freddie Dolman were the last pair at the crease and batted sensibly with Bapchild finishing up on 267 for 3 wickets in their allotted 16 overs.

Without exception all the Bees bowled and fielded superbly and Sheppey struggled reaching the Bapchild total. Pick of the bowlers was Daisy Conway with figures of 3 overs 2 wickets for only 3 runs.

Ball of the night was from Finn Taylor who uprooted the sheppey skipper’s off stump with a superb Yorker just when he looked like he was about to tee off and give their innings momentum.

Champagne moment was an excellent run out from square leg by Will Foster with just one stump to aim at he strode in, picked the ball up in one handed and ran the batsman out by two yards.

Sheppey ended up with 220 runs having lost 6 wickets on the night.

Well done to all involved on the night players and parents alike.
