Sunday XI start with a win

The Sunday XI entertained Detling in their  first game since requesting to drop down to the 2nd Division. Electing to bat the team put on 244 for 7 in their 40 overs with both Cameron Archbold (63) and Tom Carey (60) both picking up half centuries.

After tea Owen Harrison (2 for 5) picked up early wickets and wickets continued to fall with J. Mitchell (2 for 5) and Steve Roberts (2 for 16) also picking up a brace as the visitors reached 102 for 9 off their allotted overs.

The 1st XI were played at home against Bettshangar.  Winning the toss the team batted well with he top five all scoring with the pick being Ricky Dale (64).  Unfortunately the middle order lost quick wickets but a quick fire 19 from Owen Harrison at the end saw the team reach a very comfortable 241 for 9 in their 50 overs

Unfortunately the bowling proved to be wayward after tea and apart from Ricky Dale’s 3 for 31 the visiting team scored easily crossing the line just 4 wickets down and 8 balls to spare

The 2nd XI were in a similar game but on the other side of result when they chased down 209 against Tonbridge to pick up their third consecutive win

Travelling to Tonbridge the home side decided to bat first putting on 209 for 7 in their 46 overs with Glenn Kennett picking up 3 for 42.

It was always going to be a difficult chase on the Tonbridge pitch but a a strong top order of John Heatley (65), James Sutton (49) just missing out on a 2nd successive half century, Joe Mills (28) and Nick Page (32 no) meant that the target was reached with 7 balls and 4 wickets to spare

The 3rd XI played a strong Rodmersham 2nd XI and despite Brian Carey’s 4 for 38 the home team reached 243 for 5 off their 40 overs.

The team batted well scoring 188 for 6 in reply but the total proved to much.  Chris Hogg (45 no), Nathan Glazier (39) Robert Hawkes (31), Ethan Collier (22) Ashley Hooker (21) and Graeme Corner (16) all chipped in
