Due to a perfect storm on availability this weekend the Club was always challenged in fulfilling its fixtures
The 1s were at home to Minster 2nd XI and had called upon the 2s Captain, Vice Captain and another senior player up from the 2nd XI
Put into bat by the opposition wickets fell regularly as the team battled their way to 117 for 9 at the end of their innings. James Weller 39 and James Sutton 25 being the only two to reach above 20
Minster didn’t have it all their own way as Tyler Wassell (2 for 16) and Ricky Dale (1 for 28) had them 11 for 3. However a good 4th wicket stand of 77 ended by Adam Rayner (1 for 22) got them back on track and apart from Josh Willis (1 for 30) claiming the wicket of ex-Zimbabwe International Greg Lamb the visitors comfortably crossed the finishing line with 28 overs and 5 wickets to spare
The 2s called upon eight 3s players in their game against Headcorn. Winning the toss they decided to field first and good performances from all the team kept the score down to 186 for 6 in the home teams 40 overs innings. Pick of the bowling Jacob Carter (2 for 41) and Glenn Kennett (2 for 41). Tom Gunner (1 for 36), Haris Khan (1 for 36) and Anthony Burbury (9 overs 0 for 25) also bowled well.
Chris Knope (28) and Yuvraj Rajgor (10) got the team off to a good start supported with Linc Bryden (23), Glenn Kennett (11), Caleb Deveson (15) and Tom Gunner (10) all reaching double figures but a wicket that started to break up made it difficult to bat and the team was 9 down and 65 runs short of the total at the end of the game.
