Congratulations to Ricky Dale who scored his maiden century for the the Club on Saturday
Ricky was batting for the 1st XI in their away game at Downham & Bellingham. Having won the toss and elected to bat Ricky came in at number three early in the innings. He batted superbly supported by Michael Willis (41 no) and passed the the 50 mark for the 20th time in his senior career. Ricky had been close to his maiden ton on a number of occasions in the past but had never reached that elusive land mark. This time was different and great celebrations were had as he passed 100 and finishing on 122 no at the end of the innings. The team had reached 242 for 9 with Ricky scoring over half of the runs
The home team batted well and although wickets were picked up (Matt Roche 4 for 45, Michael Willis 2 for 79) they crossed the line with a heartbreaking 3 balls to spare robbing the team of their second win
The 2nd XI was at home to Holcombe and Blue Bell Hill and elected to bat on winning the toss. Openers Rob Kennett (61) and Lee Cogger (37) got the team off to a great start putting on 112 before the first wicket fell. Matt Lewis (31) added to the score as did most of the team and at the end of the allotted overs found themselves on a very respectable 232 for 8
H & BH never really got into the game especially after 3 wickets for 2 runs when the score was on 106 as Lincoln Bryden gave a master class of spin picking up 4 for 56 on his first outing of the season. Unfortunately the visitors held out reaching 194 for 6 off their 46 overs
The 3rd XI travelled to Minster and on winning the toss elected to bat. Unfortunately wickets were given away with only Robert Hawkes (23), Graeme Corner (27) and Cameron Stevens (14) making double figures as the team found themselves all out for 104 in 23.3 overs.
The going was not easy for Minster and wickets fell regularly but the home team crossed the line in the 19th over with 4 wickets to spare. Picking of the bowling Ashley Bax (3 for 36) and Graeme Corner (2 for 16)
The Sunday 1st Team was rained off in their KVL game against Wingham
The Sunday 2nd Team could unfortunately not fulfil the fixture
