On a sunny but cold (will the NE wind ever stop) the inaugural T20 match with Sittingbourne Hockey Club took place on Sunday and were well supported from both Clubs.
With close ties between the two clubs with many members playing cricket and hockey for the two organisations it was only time before this match took place. With many players struggling to choose which team to play for the teams looked evenly matched.
Bapchild batted first reached a reasonable 135 but SHC proved too strong knocking the runs off in 14 overs and 8 wickets to spare. The game continued allowing everyone a bat and at close of play everyone had thoroughly enjoyed themselves and many stayed afterwards for a BBQ and few drinks while reminiscing and enhancing the day’s performances.
The club looks forward to playing a return hockey match in September and making both fixtures a annual event
