Harry Mantle got his second 5 wicket haul of the 2023 campaign against Cobham CC at the weekend

Bapchild were playing a double header against Cobham at the weekend with the 1st team at home.  Electing to bat stand-in Captain Tom Carey hit 59 supported well by Ricky Dale (48).  Chris Hogg chipped in with 20 and James Weller 10 as the team we all out on the last ball of the innings for 164.

Harry opened the bowling and picked up early wickets.  Supported well by Ricky Dale (1 for 9 off 9 overs) and Kesha Rajadurai (1 for 27 off 9 overs) Harry picked up 5 wickets for just 17 runs off his allotted 9 overs. Josh willis (2 for 28) and Tom Carey (1 for 30) mopped up as Cobham found themselves all out for 137 in the 44th over

Due to the wedding of Nathan Glazier the 1st and 2nd XI had reduced availability so the 3rd XI found themselves all promoted to the 2s.   It was always going to be a tough ask and when put into bat wickets fell early.  Glenn Kennett (24), Yuvraj Rajgor (15), Anthony Burbury (15) and Linc Bryden (11) all scored but never kicked on as the team was all out for 90 in the 33rd over.

It became tougher with Cobham’s overseas player opening the batting and attacking from the start as Cobham reached the required target in 11th over for the loss of just one wicket

The 3rd XI home game against High Halstow was conceded due to all the players playing in the 2s !!

The Sunday XI travelled to Mersham and was put into bat by the home team.  Captain Tom Carey (58) and James Weller (39) put on an opening stand of 104 but unfortunately once they had been dismissed the team could not capitalise on the initial platform with only Ben Gunner (12) reaching double figures as the team reached 153 for 9 off their 40 overs.

Mersham openers also started well and the home team crossed the line with 9 overs and 7 wickets to spare (Tom Carey 2 for 17, Ella Hadler 1 for 19)

The U14 Bears beat Minster by 5 wickets on Sunday (Jay Sharma 30, Aaryan Rajgor 21)

The U16s beat Minster by 7 runs on Monday (Edward Louden 46, Jack Louden 41)
