Broncos miss out on last ball decider
On a cool dampish evening at Radfield Hill the Bapchild Broncos started off their campaign for 2023 season with a league game against Minster CC.
Broncos captain Sophie Hogben lost the toss and Minster elected to bat first. A good bowling and fielding display by the Broncos reduced Minster to 245 for 8 at the close of their innings. Pick of the Broncos bowlers were captain Sophie Hogben returning figures of 3 overs 4 wickets for 18 runs .
In reply the Broncos batted steadily but were always behind the required run rate due to some excellent bowling from the Minster side. However last pair of Aaryan Rajgor and Noah Gear reduced the deficit to a manageable target bringing the game down to the wire. With a 6 needed to win and 5 to draw off the last ball of the game Aaryan drove the ball to the boundary with a one bounce four leaving the team just one run short on 244 for 8 (Aaryan Rajgor 21 , Henry Louden 10 runs). A real valiant effort by all and we wish the team well next week against Rodmersham.
