The 1s entertained Mote CC 2nd XI at the weekend and the visitors elected to bat. Mote started strongly but after Rickey Dale (2 for 36) dismissed two of the main batsman the team got in amongst the visitors. Tom Carey (4 for 19) removed the remaining opener and with Tyler Wassell (3 for 30) returning to dismiss the tail, Mote found themselves all out for 151 in the 44th over.
Bapchild showed their intentions taking 11 off the first over. Unfortunately James Weller’s wicket fell in the second over and Ricky Dale (11) shortly afterwards, however, the 1s continued to attack the bowling and a fine 81 no from Tom Carey supported by Matt Lewis (26) and Josh Willis (12 no) the team crossed the line with 7 wickets and 20 overs remaining.
The 2s travelled to Harvel CC and were put into the field. Tom Gunner (1 for 27) picked up an early wicket but a number of drop catches cost the team and although managed to pull it back towards the end of the innings with three run outs the home team ended on 206 for 8 off their 40 overs.
Simon Cosstick continued his rich vein of form scoring 81 supported by Yuvraj Rajgor (20). Unfortunately wickets fell afterwards and despite a valiant end of innings by Chris Knope (15) and Jacob Carter (10) the team fell 20 runs short after being bowled out in the 37th over.
The 3s were home to Minster 4th XI and out the visitors into the field
Wickets fell regularly and sometimes it took only 1 ball (you know who you are !!!) and apart from Ben Gunner (31) and Paul Surridge (21) no one else reached double figures as the team was bowled out in the 35th over for 120
Bapchild bowled well after tea taking 7 wickets and making Minster bat for 36 overs to reach the total. Ollie Julier (2 for 16), Will Foster (2 for 31), William Surridge (1 for 8) and Sophie Hogben (1 for 19) all picking up wickets
The Sunday XI was at home to Street End on Sunday who elected to bat. Steve Roberts (1 for 23) returning for his first match this year took an early wicket. After a second wicket stand Caleb Deveson (1 for 25) removed the danger man with Ollie Julier (1 for 25) Will Cosstick (1 for 15) Tom Carey (1 for 15) and Haris Khan (1 for 21), who picked up his first wicket for the Club, all chipped away at the opposition. The lower order wagged briefly but Ella Hadler (2 for 11) mopped as Street End found themselves 186 for 8 off their allotted 40 overs
Tom Carey (20) and James Weller (38) got the team off to a good start and Steve Roberts (12) and Jake Connolly (12) all chipped in. A fine 51 not out from Daniel Covey supported by William Cosstick (25) saw the team cross the line for their second win with 4 wickets and 6.1 overs to spare
The U16s returned to winning ways on Monday having won the toss and elected to bat. Scoring 158 for 5 off their 20 overs they then restricted Faversham to 86 for 8 in return.
