Broncos v Minster May 2019

On a warm but breezy evening at Minster the under 12 Broncos team turned up to play their second game of the season. Sporting a young team and one short due a player dropping out with flu the odds were always going to be stacked against them.

Raphael Fontanelli was elected skipper for the night with Edward Louden vice and having lost the toss Minster decided to bat first. The home team batted aggressively and put bat to ball from the start but the Broncos stuck to their task with some excellent fielding and bowling with Eva Chapman slowing the charge in 5th over with an absolute beautiful ball uprooting the  middle stump of the Minster batsman.

With a run chase of just over 300 required the Broncos started very well with captain Raphael and Oscar Danaher-Sears going off at a charge. They were backed up by Edward Louden and Tyler Roberts who batted very sensibly with a few lusty blows from Edward.

The girls then came to the crease with a tip and run philosophy and it was very entertaining watching Skye fFntanelli and Eva Chapman bat with no fear and a bit of a gung ho attitude.

Oliver Pratt was last to the crease batting and played straight and sensible knowing that we were probably going to be 20 odd runs short at the close of play and this was indeed how the game finished.

A good game played in the right spirit well done to all involved
