Bears win first game
On a lovely sunny morning at Radfield Hill the Bapchild U14 Bears seeking their first win of the season hosted Sheldwich in a league game.
Bapchild won the toss and invited Sheldwich to bat first. Captain Henry Louden then up rooted Sheldwich opener’s middle stump with the first ball of the game with a superb Yorker to get the team off to the best possible start.
The team bowled and fielded well with Isaac Gregory Bourne returning figures of 4 overs 3 wickets for 14 runs. Champagne moment was a brilliant one handed catch by Henry at first slip who continued to lead by example as Sheldwich was held to 89 for 5 in their 29 overs
With a slight wobble at the start of the Bapchild’s innings it was Joshua rose who took the game to Sheldwich scoring a magnificent 30 before having to retire. Henry and Anjali Smith then knocked off the required runs reaching 90 for 4 off in just 14 overs to seal their first win of the season.
