1s and Sunday XI pickup good wins

Both the 1st XI and Sunday XI team won at the weekend keeping both their chases for promotion very much alive.

The 1st XI entertained Nonnington and elected to bat first.

The team got of to a good start with the first four batsman all reaching double figures including James Weller (31) and Owen Harrison (37) reaching the 30s.

A few wickets fell quickly but Ricky Dale (27 no) and Ben Wiebe-Williams (35) steadied the ship however the team found themselves all out in the 44th over for 186

Tyler Wassel  (1 for 16) made an early breakthrough suppoerted by Ben (0 for 18). Harry Mantle (3 for 25) and Tom Carey (2 for 11) ripped through the vistors line up leaving Amith Lokesh (1 for 19) and Ricky (2 for 13) to finish off as Nonnington found themselves all out for 107 in the 37th over.

 

The 2s  travelled to Southfleet and elected to bat.  Openers James Sutton (25) and Rob Kennett (36) got the team off to a great start however only James Newman (20 no) managed double figures after that and the team were bowled out for 102 in the 35th over.

The team bowled well after the break picking up 5 wickets before the home team crossed the line with just under 10 overs to spare.  Henry Louden (3 for 29),  Alan Hampton (1 for 11) and a run out by James Newman picking up the wickets.

The 3s entertained Orpington Ocelots and decided to bat first and lost a wicket early on.  Chris Wood (17) and Glenn Kennett (18) started buildng a partnership however wickets continued to fall with team finding themselves 40 for 5.  Linc Bryden (53) and Chris rebuilt for a second and the team reached 120 before being bowled out in the last over.

The visitors knocked off the runs in 31 overs losing just 3 wickets with Simon Rose (1 for 20) and Linc (2 for 31) picking up the wickets

 

The Sunday XI had a very short trip to Borden for their KVL match. Borden decided to bat and Ethan Collier (1 for 12)  picked up an early wicket.  Wickets fell regularly with Isaac Gregory Bourne (3 for 10), Arman Mohammdi (2 for 22), Archie Covey (1 for 20), Ben Gregory-Bourne (1 for 9) and Ben Wieve-Williams  (1 for 10) all getting in on the act.  Winston Roe (0 for 29) debuting for the Sunday XI also bowled well as the home team found themselves all out for 125.

Yuvraj (50 no) secured his first half century for the season and with Ethan Collier (45) just missing out the team won the match with 7 wickets and 9 overs to spare
