Tough weekend

All Bapchild teams had a tough weekend

The 1st XI travelled to Frindsbury and was put into bat. Good knocks from Tom Carey (42) and Ricky Dale (33) were the only batsman to really trouble the home team as they found themselves bowled out for 124 in the 43rd over.

The rain came after tea on what was already a damp pitch with only 1.1 overs being bowled before being abandoned

The 2nd team hosted Bettshanger who elected to bat first and reached 224  for 5 off they allotted overs (Tyler Wassell 2 for 62)

Simon Cosstick (34) started well but wickets fell regularly but James Sutton (62) and Lincoln Bryden (42 no) put looked like they may be able to chase down the target.  Unfortunately they were 33 runs short at close with two wickets left.

The 3rd XI were at home to Holborough Anchorians and elected to field.  Ashley Bax put the pressure on early taking 3 for 38 however the visitor’s mid order rallied before Ethan Collier and debutant Jordan Reynolds picked a brace each.  At the end of their 40 overs the score was 149 for 8

After tea the team never managed to put any partnership together and were finally dismissed in the 34th over for 72

The Sunday XI travelled to Littlebourne who decided to bat first.  The in form Gould brothers got the home team off to a good start before Ben Cooper (2 for 38) and Owen Harrison (1 for 73) broke the partnership.  Ricky Dale (3 for 47) and Nick Page (2 for 38) also picked up wickets but Littlebourne reached 276 for 8 off their 40 overs

Nick Page (32) was the only batsman to get going as the team was bowled out for 94
