Tom Carey won Kent Cricket Volunteers Game Changer Award for 2023.
Tom is not only our Sunday Team Captain and 1st XI Vice Captain but this year has taken on the role of U16’s Coach and managed the team to be League Champions. He also helps out on Thursday’s with the U12 matches and coaches All Stars and Dynamos on a Saturday morning having obtaining his ECB Core Coaching badge last summer.
He is always the first to volunteer and this year after a quick crash course prepared match pitches on his own when both groundsmen were unavailable. He helps out every month with the paper collection and organised the winter nets to name just a few things he does for the Club.
The Club is extremely proud that not only we recognise how much Tom does but also Kent Cricket has too.
Tom was invited to Canterbury Cricket ground on the 27th September where he was presented with his award and was able to watch the county game with his Dad Brian.
Tom is now automatically nominated by Kent Cricket for the ECB’s National Cricket Collective Awards 2023 and we wish him every luck
