Bapchild CC ended the season last Saturday with the annual Memorial Match Day.
In memory of those who are no longer with us the Club held matches throughout the day
Firstly the U10’s enjoyed quick cricket matches in the morning
This was followed by a mix of U12s and U14s who played a double wicket competition batting in pairs with a start of 50 runs. 5 runs were taken off for the loss of a wicket and great fun was had by all who attended. U14 winners were Ethan Tollervey and Dylan Smith with a total of 84 runs and U12 winners were Emily Cowan and Emily Surridge with a total of 75 runs so well done to them.
In the afternoon the seniors played against a Roy Lincoln XI (Roy being a previous Chairman of the Club) captained by Roy’s son Jimmy. The match was keenly fought with the Roy’x XI scoring 227 and the Bapchild XI falling just short. Money was also raised for the Primary Club a charity that Roy supported.
A good days cricket and a fitting way to complete the 2023 season
