Chairman’s Day Ends 2014 Season

Players at the start of the Chairman's Day Super Sixteen Slog

The Chairman’s Day signalled the end of the 2014 season.

The SUPER SIXTEEN SLOG competition was a new format for the day which proved hugely successful with three teams (the Bapchild Biffers, Bapchild Bashers and Bapchild Blasters) battling it out in a round robin.

All three games went to the wire with the Chairman’s Biffers coming out on top over the three games proving that the Chairman’s team selection was spot on !!!!!

The ladies of the club not only kept us fed during the games but once again put on a superb spread of hot food in the evening.

I would like to thank all players, members and supporters not only for their support on the day but for the whole of the season.

This year has been an exceptional season with the 1st XI gaining promotion to Division 4 for the first time in the club’s history; the 2nd XI coming 3rd in their league; the 3rd playing in the spirit that cricket should be and blooding some new players.  The Sunday XI challenging for KVL Division 1 title and scoring a record breaking 391 runs in 40 overs.  The Sunday 2nd XI played some great friendlies.

The U13 Bears were league champions and they, and all the other junior teams, played their cricket that  makes the club proud.

We have a great club  and that is down to all of you, the players, coaches, members, ground staff, tea ladies, the committee, family and friends.

This year we are 230 years old and I am proud to say we are strong than ever.

Thank you and roll the 2015 season
