Broncos just miss out
On a cloudy overcast evening at Radfield Hill the U12 Bapchild Broncos met Rodmersham in a top of the table clash.
Rodmersham won the toss and elected to bat first. Knowing it would be a tough match Bapchild set about their task with restricting Rodmersham time and time again with some excellent bowling and fielding.
A good catch by captain Aaryan Rajgor set the tone and Henry Louden took control for Bapchild with a 5 wicket haul, a brilliant run and an exceptional diving catch at mid-on which restricted Rodmersham to 233 with the loss of 15 wickets.
Needing just 3 runs an over to win the game Bapchild needed to bat sensibly and not lose too many wickets but it wasn’t to be. Rodmersham to their credit bowled and fielded incredibly well also took 15 wickets leaving Bapchild just short of their target at close of play.
A credit to both teams where all catches and run out chances were taken and some brilliant bowling spells were seen on the night from both sides.
