Tom Carey hit 102 not out as the Sunday XI chalked their first win of the campaign.

The 1st XI were at home to Linton Park CC and decide to bat first Tom Carey (39) and James Weller (15)  started well reaching 40 before the partnership was broken.

Four wickets fell shortly afterwards for just 21 runs but a good stand from James Sutton (44no) and Rob Kennett (17) started to rebuild the innings however the team only managed to reach 153 for 8 at the end of their 45 overs.

A strong Linton top order knocked the score off in just 19.1 overs for the loss of just two wickets (Tom Carey 2 for 34)

The 2nd XI were away to St. Lawerence & Highland Court who elected to bat.    A very strong top order again saw the top 5 players reach double figures and despite the team’s efforts the opposition reached a very respectable 345 for 5 off their 40 overs.  Debutant Charles Wash picked up 4 wickets and Thiagarajan Shanmugam the other while  Dan Covey bowled well going for just in his 9 overs.

The twos could not repeat the first innings and were bowled out for 115 in the 34th over with Ethan Collier  top scoring with 27

The 3XI were at home to The Mote 4th XI who put the team into bat.  After an early wicket Paul Surridge (87) and William Surridge (12) started to build a platform with Will hitting a 6 to get off the mark !!   Ben Gunner (67) joined Paul and perhaps saw one of the best batting partnerships seen in the 3rds with both batsman playing an array of impressive shots to panic the Mote players.   Both players deserved their fifties with Ben getting his highest senior score. Captain Linc Bryden chipped in with 24no as the team passed the 200 mark for the first time this season scoring 217 for 5 off their 40 overs.

In response Bapchild’s bowling didn’t fire as it had done in recent games.   Jay Sharma and Ella Hadler worked hards against the Motes aggressive start without much luck.    Sophie Hogben bowled a wonderful tight spell of 9 overs for just 35 runs and taking 3 of the four wickets on the day.   It was just not to be as the visitors crossed the line with just over 2 overs to spare.

The Sunday XI were at home to Rainham and off the back of loss from the first two games looked to have another tough match ahead of them.   Ethan Collier (2 for 15) was in amongst the wickets early on removing the two openers supported by Tom Gunner.   Dan Covey again bowled well again (9 overs 0 for 23) and Tom Carey picked up 2 for 18 as the visitor found themselves 74 for 4.   Ella Hadler (4 for 19) removed the middle order supported by Toby Heather (1 for 12) and father and son Glenn (1 for 32) and Robert Kennett teamed up to remove the last batsman as Rainham found themselves all out in the 36th over for 143.

Tom Carey hit a superb 102 no supported by James Weller (28), who fell to an excellent caught and bowled , and Yuvraj Rajgor (11 no) as the team reached the target in the 23rd over with 9 wickets to spare.

The U16s won comfortably against Minster who reached 67 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.  Ben Hooker (2 for 6) and Dhylan Smith (1 for 6) as well as 4 run outs meant the opposition remained under pressure for the whole innings.

After an early wicket Joshua Ingram (23 no) and Aaryan Rajgor (13 no) together with 29 extras saw the team home with 9 wickets and just 11 overs to spare.
