Brillant Broncos

U12 Broncos v Upchurch May 2024
The season got up and running for the Junior section on Thursday 9th May at Upchurch as the Broncos U12 side played their first league game of the season. Broncos’ captain Aaryan Rajgor won the toss and elected to field first.    With the very first ball of the season Joshua Rose clipped off stump with a beautiful delivery and so set the tone for the rest of the innings and putting Upchurch on the back foot from the very start.    Joshua and Henry Louden both took 3 wickets each in their 3 over spells and Henry was in the thick of it again with an excellent run out from deep point with only one stump to aim at.     Not to be out done Harvey Rowe matched the skill in the field with a worldly catch at deep mid wicket.
Broncos captain Aaryan simply blew the opposition’s mid order away with some exceptional bowling and ending of figures of 3 overs 6 wickets for only 2 runs.
Up church finished their innings on 167 after their 16 overs losing 19 wickets in total.
All of the Bapchild Broncos batted sensibly knowing the total was very achievable and the shot of the night came from Anjali Smith with a text book cover drive off the opening bowler with the ball racing to the boundary.
Last batting pair Aaryan Rajgor and Emily Surridge put bat to ball and the Broncos finished on 278 at the close of play for a comfortably win the  game.
Upchurch were great hosts and the game was played in the spirit that cricket should be played in.
