1st XI continues winning run

The 1st XI continued their winning run while away to Chislehurst & West Kent this week.  Electing to bat Adam Larking 79 and Daniel Pumfrett (44) got the team off to a superb start with a 124 opening stand. Captain Ricky Dale (44) and Tom Carey (23 no) help to build on the platform and the team reached 241 for 6 from their allotted 50 overs

Wickets fell regularly through out the Home team’s innings as they reached 159 all out in the 46th over.  The wickets were shared amongst the four bowlers with RickyDale picking up 4 for 26 and Owen Harrison, Alan Hampton and Matt Lewis two a piece

 

The 2nd XI were home to Offham 2nd XI and on winning the toss Offham chose to bat.  An early wicket from Tyler Wassell (2 for 36) put on early pressure but a good second wicket partnership swung the match back to Offham.  Glenn Kennett (3 for 41) and Adam Watson (3 for 46) pegged them back and the home team finished on 200 for 8 in their allotted 46 overs

Robert Kennett (24) and Steve Pumfrett (45) got the team off to a solid start after an early wicket but wickets fell regularly.  Tyler Wassell almost won the game before he was unfortunately run out for 22 leaving the team 10 short of victory with 11 balls remaining

 

The 3XI were home to Upchurch who elected to bat.  Good bowling and fielding kept the visitors to 156 for 6 in their allotted 40 overs with pick of the bowling going to Ethan Collier 2 for 23 off 10 overs

After losing a quick wicket Nathan Glazier (16) and Brian Carey (19) started to build a platform but wickets fell regularly and apart from Ethan (19) no one else reached double figures and the team was out for 117 in the last over

 

The Sunday XI visited Ash who elected to bat.  A couple of early wickets put on pressure but the Ash steadied themselves and and went on to score 230 for 9 in their allotted overs with Owen Harrison and Lincoln Bryden picking up 3 wickets a piece

 

Opener James Weller (60) batted well but unfortunately although supported by Tyler Wassell (26) and Owen Harrison (17) the team fell short being all out for 155 at the end of the 39th over
