Bees and Broncos do the Club Proud
Bapchild’s two U11 teams met for the first time this season
On a cool cloudy evening at Radfield Hill, Bronco’s skipper Darcy Carter won the toss and elected to bat first
After a slow start the Broncos’ got their innings together with good knocks from Zak Lewis (12) and Freddie Corner (13) with the team ending up on 281 for the loss of 5 wickets. Pick of the bowlers were captain Jacob Carter and Tom Gunner who both picked up two wickets a piece
The Bees’ batted sensibly and steady throughout their innings with useful knocks from Tom Gunner (13) and Jacob Carter (6) but unfortunately came up just short of the Bronco’s total for the loss of just 4 wickets. Pick of the bowlers were Finlay Downs (2 overs 0 runs for 1 wicket) and Zak Lewis (2 overs 1 run for 1 wicket)
A close game played by two competitive teams in the right spirit made for a great evening for both parents and colts
Debut for Daisy Conway meant she played against her brother Fergie while the Gunner twins, the Hadfield twins and brother and sister Finn and Darcy Carter meant it was a real family affair on the night with lots of friendly rivalry
