The 1st XI won their first game of the season against Old Colfeians at home on Saturday

The Visitors elected to bat and started steadily but a good opening spell from Ashley Bax (10 overs for 20 runs) who picked up the opener supported by Tyler Wassell (6 overs for 26) meant that the slow start put pressure on the batting team.   Kesha Rajadurai (5 for 2 off 10 overs)  and Ricky Dale (1 for 19 off 10 overs) and Tom Carey (4 for 10 off 8 overs) continued to turn the screw helped by good fielding; excellent stumping from Mike Willis; a great run out from Tom Carey and good catches from Christopher Hogg, Ricky, Joe and Ashley  saw Old Colfeians bowled out for 91 in the 49th over.

Old Colfeians picked up two very early wickets but Tom Carey (59 no) and James Weller (24 no) cruised across the line with just over 28 overs to spare for an eight wicket win

The 2nd XI travelled to Cobham and were put into bat.  James Sutton (18), Lee Cogger (15) and Nick Page (13) all reached double figures but were unable to kick on.  Yuvraj Rajgor scored a good 18 but wickets began to fall  and the team found themselves all out for 95 in the 44th over with only Edward Louden (12 no) putting up any resistance.

Lee Cogger (1 for 37) picked up the only wicket as Cobham reached the target in just under 19 overs.  Adam Rayner (5 overs for 22), Ed Louden (4 overs for 10) and Patrick Hogben (3.4 overs for 15) bowled well

The 3rd XI travelled to Egerton and again was put into bat.  Simon Cosstick (15) and Brian Carey (27) got the team off to a good start with  Lincoln Bryden (30), Caleb Davison (14) and Tom Gunner (10)  all chipping in as they reached 143 before being bowled out in the 39th over.  Egerton never looked in trouble knocking off the runs in just 26.3 overs but Ella Hadler’s 3 for 38 was well deserved.
