Only the weather won on Saturday as two games were abandoned and one never started
The 1st Team were away to Minster 2nd XI and was put into bat in fairly miserable conditions. Opener Matt Lewis scored 37 off 43 balls while the other opener Tom Carey reached only 0 off his 19 balls. Ricky Dale (22) put on a 59 run partnership with Matt before Matt succumbed. James Weller (28) Cameron Archbold (12) Rob Kennett (14no) and Kesha Rajadurai (13no) all chipped in as the team reached 161 for 6 off 40 overs
Ricky Dale (1 for 19) picked up the opener as Minister raced to 42 off the first 5 overs but the consistent rain had made play dangerous and the game was stopped.
The 2nd XI played Headcorn and was put into bat. James Sutton played a captains innings scoring 75 in difficult conditions. Simon Cosstick (37) William Cosstick (20) Tom Gunner (13no) and Yuvraj Rajgor (10) all supported as the team reached 187 for 9 off their 40 overs.
Headcorn started well but wickets started to tumble with Will Cosstick (1 for 31) Adam Rayner (1 for 25) Ethan Collier (1 for 15) Daniel Covey (1 for 12) all picking up one before the rain began to tumble even more and the game was abandoned
The 3rd XI game away to Egerton was called off before a ball was bowled
The Sunday XI traveled to Smarden in the first Kent Village League game of the season and was put into bat. Tom Carey (45) and James Weller (25) got the team off to a good start. Wickets then began to fall and only Tom Gunner (18) and Linc Bryden (19) reached double figures thereafter as the team was all out in the 40th over for 142
The team bowled well, Tom Gunner (1 for 14), Ollie Julier (1 for 23), Jacob Carter (1 for 35), Tom Carey (1 for 19), Ella Hadler (1 for 26) and Caleb Deveson (0 for 20) but the total was never enough to defend and the visitors crossed the line with 5 wickets and four overs to spare
