8 for 21
Aaryan Rajgor returned the impressive figures of 8 for 21 on Sunday against Norton Sports.
The 1s were away to Rodmersham in the local derby. On winning the toss the team elected to bat. James Weller (31) and Matt Lewis (18) got the team off to a steady start with Chris Knope and Owen Harrison also making double figures. A good partnership from Nick Page (25) and Mike Willis (31) moved the score along and James Sutton (14) and Amith Lokesh (41 no) moved the score swiftly on at the end as the team reached 215 for 8 off their 45 overs.
Rodmersham responded strongly until Joe Mills (2 for 31) made the breakthrough with a caught an bowled and followed it up shortly afterwards with a second wicket. Rodmersham’s overseas batted well and the team tried to support him but no major partnership could be put together as wickets fell regularly. It looked like rodmersham could make the target until Harry Mantle (2 for 39) dismissed the overseas danger man leaving the home team requiring 78 from 14 overs and 6 wickets standing. Owen Harrison (3 for 32) and Tyler Wassell (1 for 33) returned to remove the middle order and Rodmersham fell away from the chase still requiring 24 runs at the end of play.
The 2s were at home to bottom of the league Harvel. Haris Khan (2 for 35) picked up early wickets but the middle order rallied until Adam Rayner picked up 4 wickets for 38 to peg them back to 167 for 8 off their 40 overs. Henry Louden (1 for 19) and Ben Wiebe-Williams (1 for 15) picking up the other wickets.
The team felt confident in the chase but the opening bowlers sliced through the batting as the team found themselves 27 for 7 in quick time. Adam Rayner (31) and Ethan Collier (14) put up some resistence but the team was bowled out for 72 in the 24th over.
The 3s travelled to top team Dartford and was put into ba. Wickets fell regularly and despite captain Lincoln Bryden (42) and Jay Sharma (19 no) valiant efforts the team found themselves out for 155 on the last ball of the innings.
Father and son, Ben and Isaac Gregory-Bourne (1 for 24), combined to pick up the only wicket after tea as the home team crossed the line in the 23rd over with 9 wickets to spare
Sunday saw the Club host Norton Sports for the second weekend in a row this time in a KVL match. Deciding to bat the team lost an early wicket but a good stand between Yuvraj Rajgor (59) suppported by Owen Harrison (30) followed by an excellent knock from skipper Ben Wiebe-Wiliiams (71 no) with Caleb Deveson chipping in with 13 as the team reached 207 for 6 off their 40 overs
Haris Khan (0 for 11) and Amith Lokesh (0 for 23) bowled well but a spell binding 9 overs from Aaryan Rajgor saw him take 8 wickets for 21 runs. Henry Louden (1 for 26) chipped in and brother Yuvraj Rajgor picked up the last wicket in just two balls and Norton were bowled out for 120 in the 30th over
