Alan Hampton scored 116 for the 2XI this weekend as both teams beat the top teams in their respective leagues.

The 1s were at home to top of the League Borstal who won the toss as elected to bat.

Tom Gunner ((1 for 37) picked up an early wicket.  supported well by Tyler Wassell (7 overs for 24).   The visitors tried hard to build partnerships but every time looked to be set further wickets fell on a regular basis.  Ricky Dale (9 overs 3 for 22) and Harry Mantle (9 overs 1 for 18) bowled superbly picking up wickets and keep the runs low in the middle section of the innings.  Matt Lewis (4 for 26) supported by Dan Covey (0 for 32) kept the pressure on as Borstal found themselves 162 for 9 off their allotted 45 overs.

Matt Lewis and James Weller fell early in reply but a very controlled innings from Ricky Dale (64no) supported by James Sutton (12), Mike Willis (10), Daniel Covey (14no) and Extras (50) saw the team pass the line with 2 ½ overs and 4 wickets to spare.

The 2s travelled to top of the league Bettshanger and elected to bat.   An early wicket got Bettshanger off to a good start but opener Alan Hampton turned the game scoring a rapid fire 116 before being stumped.  William Cosstick played the perfect supporting role scoring 47 and it was good see the spirit of cricket alive when he was given out LBW after hitting the ball on to his pads only to be asked back by the opposition.  Tony Carollo on debut hit 16 and Will Surridge (30 no), Ethan Collier (20) and Ben Gunner (9 no) all chipped in as the team reached an impressive 265 for 5 in their allotted 40 overs.

Bettshanger batted well and started of at a quick pace after the break but Bapchild fought back with a good middle spells from Alan Hampton  and with wickets from Captain Adam Rayner (4 for 23), Alan Hampton (7 for 12) brought the game under control and the home team found themselves all out in the 39th over 74 runs short of the total. Ethan COllier (43 for 2), Ollie Julier (1 for 27) and William Cosstick (1 for 17) picking up the other wickets.

The 3rd XI conceded their game due to availability in the 1s and 2s – Players stepped up to play in the 1s and 2s and helped both achieve impressive wins.
