Sunday team just misses out as Saturday teams are washed out
The Sunday XI just missed out in a tight game against Rolvenden on Sunday. On a damp pitch the toss was always going to be the deciding factor after the previous day’s rain which unfortunately went Rolvenden’s way and they elected to field. Tom Carey (17) and Ethan Collier (25 not out) were the only two batsman to reach double figures as the team struggled to 88.
The home team also struggled as opening bowlers Ethan (2 for 19) and Haris Khan (3 for 24) removed the top order. Tom Carey (1 for 18) and Toby Heather (2 for 21) kept the pressure on as it looked like the team may come out on top but Rolvenden limped over with two wickets to spare.
All Saturday games were abandoned without a ball being bowled due to the heavy rain all day
