1s stay top with local derby win


The 1st XI remain top of Division 5 with a comfortable win against Faversham at the weekend.   The visitors decide to field and  picked up and early wicket but good batting from James Weller (33) and Ricky Dale (44)  steadied the ship. Faversham managed to break the partnership and pick up a couple of extra wickets a excellent 74 from Mike Willis and 45 from Chris Knope helped the team reach 269 for 8 of their allotted 50 overs.

After team Owen Harrison and Harry Mantle destroyed the visitors top order with both of them taking 3 for 18 off each of their 10 overs.  Faversham tried to recover but Will Cosstick (2 for 1) removed any stubborn resistance as the visitors we bowled out for 114  in the start of the 46th over


The 2nd XI travelled to Frindsbury and were put into the field on an extremely hot day.  The tea bowled well with Ethan Collier (2 for 35), Glenn Kennett (2 for 47) and Freddie Corner (2 for  34) all picking up a brace each as the home team reached 232 for 7 off their allotted overs.

A excellent 73 from opener Lee Taylor gave the team a promising start but only three other players reached double figures as the team was bowled out for 161 in the 40th over.


The 3rd XI did not have a game this weekend


The Sunday XI entertained Smarden in their KVL match and were put into the field on a extremely hot afternoon.   Smarden Batted well reaching 195 for 7 off their 40 overs with Owen Harrison (3 for 15) and Glenn Kennett (2 for 41) being the pick of the bowlers.


A excellent 56 not out from Glenn Kennett supported by James Weller (30) and Tom Carey (28) was unfortunately not enough as the team fell 40 runs short at the close of play.
