Will see 2s home and Dan gets maiden half century

Will Cosstick scored a superb unbeaten 81 to see the 2XI pick up a good win against Catford and Cyphers CC while Dan Covey scored his first senior half century against Faversham.

The 2nd XI travelled to London to play Catford and Cyphers and on winning the toss put the home team into bat.   Jake Mitchell (2 for 53) picked up an early wicket with a caught and bowled and wickets fell regularly thereafter thanks to Tom Carey (4 for 26). Will Cosstick (2 for 21) and Joe Mills (1 for 34).  Lee Cogger also bowled well going for just 16 runs off 9 overs.  The home team ended on 176 for 9 off their allotted  50 overs.

Catford picked up early wickets and  at 65 for 4 the pressure was building especially with rain affecting the game.   The Catford captain pushed to run through the overs in order for them to get the result they wanted but a mature innings from Tom Carey (48no ) and some wonderful hard hitting from Will Cosstick (81no) meant that their 112 run partnership saw the team home with 4.2 overs and 6 wickets to spare.

The 3rd XI travelled to Faversham and were put into bat.   An early wicket fell but Dan Covey (63) in at number 3 played excellently to score his first maiden half century for the Club at senior level.  Dan was well supported by Jake Connolly (23).  Captain Lee Taylor chipped in with 38 as the team reached  177 for 7 in their 40 overs.

Rain affected the second innings which resulted in the Faversham innings being reduced to 20 overs but some hard hitting on a short boundary saw the home team cross the line with 3 balls and 3 wickets to spare.  Pick of the bowling Freddie Corner 4 for 32 and Daniel Covey (2 for 44)

The 1st team did not have a match this week due to Harley withdrawing from the league.

The Sunday XI travelled to Havel where they were put into bat in a 35 over weather restricted match.   Robert Kennett (52) and James Weller (40) put on a 65 opening partnership setting it up nicely for Tom Carey (77 no) and supported by Glenn Kennett (23) to reach 211 in their allotted 35 overs.

Harvel opener scored a ton before being dismissed by Daniel Gunner (2 for 27).  Tom Carey (2 for 46) picket up a brace and Owen Harrison (1 for 23) and Tom Gunner (1 for 32) each picking up one wickets as the home team reached 182 for 6 before the rain arrived ending the game.
