T20 Frenzy !!

Bapchild v Touring Team July 2017
On Tuesday 25th July a touring side from Middlesex arrived at Radfield Hill
David Goodchild had brought his under 11 team down to do battle with a mixture of the Broncos and Bees squad
It was decided to play proper rules cricket (a new concept for our under 11 colts who haven’t played up in the U13s)  which meant they needed to adjust their game and not get out because, instead of  losing 5 runs,  it was back to the hutch.!!
The first game up was a T25 game and tourists posted a very decent total of 123.    A short drinks break and bapchild set to work but were just short of the target finishing on a very respectable 110 at the close of play.
A rather fine lunch ensued and it was decided to then have another match but T20 this time due to failing light.
The tourists again batted first and after a rocky start scored some late runs to finish on a total of 82 runs.
Bapchild batted steadily and gave it a charge at the end but finished just 2 runs short of the total.
A  great way to spend a day and we are sure many of the parents were happy as lots of weary kids returned home no doubt for an early night.
A big thank you to Sue Carter , Mark Collier, Tom Carey and Little Tone (!!) for helping on the day and make it such an enjoyable occassion.
