Bapchild kicked off the season winning two friendlies at the weekend
The 1st team was at home against Bobbing Court. The opposition won the toss and elected to bat. Matt Lewis (2 for 33) opened the bowling with Adam Rayner at the other end. After 11 overs the opposition were two down looking reasonably steady. A change of bowling brought Tyler Wassell (2 for 16) and “Legend” Barry Wood who was extremely expensive buying four wickets off his three overs for just 4 runs. With the damaged done Ricky Dale and Matt Roche finished off with a wicket a piece bowling out Bobbing for just 79
Bapchild batted comfortably with Lee Cogger and Adam Larking (37) getting the home team off to a good start. After a small blip James Sutton and John Heatley saw the opposition for a comfortable win
The 2nd team travelled to Faversham – The home team batted first and Bapchild opening the attack with Michael Neame and Owen Harrison who both picked up a wicket each. Ethan Collier and James Weller (2 for 21) joined the attack but then cometh the hour cometh the man Glenn Kennett ripped the Faversham apart with a wonderful spell taking 6 for 29 in 7.3 hours. The home team were all out for 158 in the 34 over
Faversham took a couple of early wickets but Simon Cosstick (39) and Brian Carey (34) made in roads to the total and Glenn Kennett (25 not out) and Owen Harrison (10 not out) saw team home with two wickets and 5 balls to spare.
Well done to all those who took part
