Bapchild Cricket Club

Cricket is Back for Bapchild

bcc-bg1

With the relaxing of the lockdown recreational cricket was given the green light and the Club, along with many other clubs, have started our shorten season through the organisation of friendly matches.

Currently the Club is only playing AWAY matches while we makes a number of changes to the Pavilion, ground and procedures to ensure we meet all relevant Government and ECB guidelines that will allow us to open.

The senior squad have played a number of Saturday and Sunday friendlies against clubs such as Faversham, Upchurch, Milsted, Marden and Rodmersham and has been enjoyed by all.   Starting from the 8th August they will play in a local mini league between Minster, Faversham, Rodmersham and ourselves.

The juniors are also playing friendlies as part of the Swale Development league and also a game against Kent Girls U11s.  Some pictures of our junior teams can be fond below.

The Club is hoping to OPEN the ground to home matches from the 13th August subject to a number of outstanding requirements being completed.  It is the intention to only open the pavilion for the purpose of providing toilet facilities and an isolation/injury room.  The bar and kitchen will not be opening.  Currently the Nets remain closed and there will be no training.

So far the club has replaced the basins and taps in toilets with lever mixer taps.   Paper towel dispensers have been installed and signage purchase/created to help remind all participants (players, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators hygiene and social distancing requirements.    The club has also purchased additional cleaning materials and PPE relevant to meeting the guidelines and helping to ensure that all our members, their families, visitors and volunteers remain safe while attending cricket matches at Radfield Hill.

Further details and guidelines for attending matches at Bapchild will be published in the coming days

We are glad to be back playing cricket and look forward to seeing matches being played at Radfield Hill in the near future.
