The Bapchild U12 Broncos played Faversham in a league game at home two weeks ago knowing that the teams were evenly matched. In a close result in the previous game had seen Faversham just nab the win in a close fought battle.
Faversham won the toss and elected to bat first with all pairs batting sensibly and with some good running and use of the quick outfield as they amassed a total 262 for 3 at the close of their innings.
Bapchild captain Adesh Smith opened the innings and teed off from word go smacking the ball to all parts in a superb batting display. He was backed up by Henry Louden in the mid-order who steadied the ship in the third pair partnership to set up a close finish. Aaryan Rajgor hit some excellent shots batting in the last pair with Anjali Smith and with Bapchild looking like the likely winners with 4 balls to go, a direct hit run out from the boundary threw the game back wide open. The pair needed to hit a six on the last ball of the innings to win the match but were unlucky getting 2 runs . The 5 points deducted for the run out three balls earlier proved to be the difference in a close fought and highly entertaining game. The Broncos still seek their first win of this campaign but we are sure its just round the corner.
