Bapchild Cricket Club held their annual Dinner and Dance at the end of November. Over 90 people attended the evening where they enjoyed a three course meal followed by the presentation of the senior awards for the 2019 season. Awards were handed out for batting, bowling and fielding achievements as well as Young Player of the Year, All-rounder, Champagne Moment and Chairman’s. A new award was presented for Young Performance of the Year, the Kenny Hart Cup, and it was lovely that Jackie, Kenny’s wife, and her son Darren (who presented the award) and her Grandson was present. The final presentation of the evening went to 2nd Team Captain James Sutton who won Cricket of the Year. James was also re-presented with the Kent Cricket League Division 4 (2nd XI) winners trophy and was joined by the 2nd team squad (pictured) who all received a memento to celebrate their fantastic achievement. Afterwards everyone enjoyed dancing the evening away.
The Chairman thanked all those involved in the club and for making the club such a great place
The Club celebrates its 235th year having been formed in 1784 and is still going strong with over 50 senior members and 90 colts.

William Cosstick receives the Fielding Award from Vice President Rodney Bottle – William took 14 outfield catches and took 2 victims behind the stumps

Ella Hadler and Daniel Gunner receiving the Inaugural Kenny Hart Cup’s Young Performance of the Year from Kenny’s son Darren – Ella and Daniel scored their maiden half centuries while putting on 100 run partnership and winning the game off the last ball of the match

John Heatley receives the Champagne Moment Award 2019 from Vice President Kath Mitchell for his catch against Downham and Bellingham

Steve Hogg received the Chairman’s Award 2019 from the Chairman (fortunately no acceptance speech !!)
