Chairman’s Match Sees the End to a Great Season
The Chairman’s match saw the last cricket being played at Radfield Hill for the 2016 season.
Three teams, Craig’s Crusaders, Tay’s Trouncers and Ricky’s Raiders, played a round robin 16 over “bash”. All three games had targets set over 150 runs and it was the final game where Ricky’s Raiders chased down 154 in just 12 overs to clinch the honours on the day. Only real mentions was the the Chairman’s tackle on Lee Taylor as he tried a cheeky third run raising immediate calls to start a rugby section and Eric’s 4 wickets in one over and just missing out on his first ever 5 wicket haul when Anthony Burbury dropped the Chairman (funny didn’t Anthony go on to winner Fielder of the Year!! ….. who decided on the awards ?????)
The homemade hot food and desserts afterwards were as always a treat and many thanks to the ladies for their efforts.
The day was a great success and replicated a great season at the club
