Ashley Bax put one hand on the Bowling Performance of the Year Award with 8 for 21 off 6 overs as the 3rd XI bowled out Lordswood for 34

Travelling away to play Lordswood’s 4th XI the home team decided to field. Ben Ryder (59) and Simon Cosstick (20) put on an opening 70 run partnership with Ben scoring his maiden 50 for the club.  William Cosstick joined Ian Hird in the middle and as wickets fell regularly Will bat well scoring 60 out of 89 runs before being caught. Daniel Gunner (17) and Ashley Bax (14 no) chipped in as the team reached 215 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs.

Jake Mitchell (1 for 12) returning to play his old club picked up the first wicket but then Ashley took over removing the remaining batsman with four victims being caught and four being bowled as the 10 man team of Lordswood were bowled out for 34 in 11 overs.

 

The 1st XI travelled to Walmer and were put into the field. Owen Harrison (4 for 42) picked up early wickets supported well by James Longhurst (10 overs for 21) but middle order resistance from the home team saw them reach 210 before being bowled out in the 49th over. Ricky Dale (2 for 42) and Tom Carey (2 for 56) both picking up a  brace

Rob Kennett (24) and Matt Lewis (16) got the team off to a good start but as wickets fell Tom Carey (69 no) and Lee Taylor (54) looked like they were going to see the team home but the team unfortunately fell just one run short in their chase.

The 2XI were home to Chislehurst and were put into bat first.   John Heatley (39) and Chris Knope (15) got the team off to a good start which was built on by Michael Willis (86) and James Sutton (68) as the team reached 240 for 6 in their 46 overs.

Chislehurst openers built a solid platform but when Nick Page and Glenn Kennett got the breakthrough and combined  with some tight bowling the opposition fell 29 runs short at the close of play.

 

The Sunday XI didn’t have a game this weekend
