3s Win and Josh picks up 7

The 3rd XI won at well earned match against Cowdrey at the weekend. Putting the visitors into bat the team bowled well against a stubborn top order.  Anthony Burbury (1 for 40) broke through and Ella Hadler bowled extremely well to pick up 3 for 39.  Tony Hadfield also chipped in with 3 wickets (3 for 21) and combined with good catches and a run out from Archie Covey Cowdrey found themselves 180 for 8 after their allotted 40 overs.

William Surridge batted very maturely for his 39 supported ably by Chris Wood (32) who both set up the platform form for the win.  Jacob Carter carried on the good work just missing out on his second half century of the season with a 49 no and batted well  together with James Elkin (17) and Anthony Burbury (24no) whose 6 sealed a very good win.

The 1s lost their match with Frindsbury at home by 146 runs but Josh Willis 7 for 54 was the real highlight of the match (MATCH REPORT TO FOLLOW)

The 2s traveled to Frindsbury as part of the double header.  Chosing to field the team picked up an early wicket through a caught and bowled from Will Cosstick (2 for 37).   Ethan Collier (2 for 35) and Lee Cogger (2 for 28) made further in roads to the Frindsbury line-up as did Daniel Covey (2 for 36) and Adam Rayner (2 for 23) as the home team found themselves all out for 191 in the 43rd over.

Rob Kennett fell early but Simon Cosstick (12) and John Heatley (38) started to build the innings.  Wickets unfortunately fell regularly and no one managed to push on with James Sutton (18), Adam Rayner (23), Ashley Bax (12) and Ethan Collier (11) all making double figures.   The team also found themselves all out in the 43rd over and unfortunately 35 run short of the required target.
