Two five wicket hauls and a maiden 50 all went towards two good wins at the weekend

The 2s were at home to Harvel at the weekend and was put into bat by the opposition.  Wickets tumbled regularly with top order batsman struggling to make double figures but 32 from Nick Page supported by John Heatley (18), Steve Botting (27) and Ethan Collier (28 not out) meant the team reached a respectable 171 before being bowled out with 2 balls left in the innings.

Harvel started strongly but a change of bowling brought a change of fortune as Adam Rayner dismissed the two openers before Haris Khan ripped through the rest of the top and middle order taking his first 5 wicket haul (5 for 23) for the Club.  Adam Rayner cleaned up tail end finishing on figures of 5 for 16 and leaving Harvel 89 runs short.

The 3s were away to Minster and were put into the field by the home team. Minster’s top five all reached double figures as they started strongly but the team kept plugging away with Harvey Bryden (1 for 40) picking up his 1st senior wicket for the club to remove one of the openers.  Ollie Julier picked up a couple of wickets together with Ella Hadler (1 for 19) and removed the main threats.   Toby Heather joined the attack making an impact immediately  picking up 4 for 11 in his seven overs including a catch by Ollie (who at the time was on 4 for 43) to bowl Minster all out for 174 at the end of the 39th over.

Brian Carey re-hit form after tea scoring 38 but it was the Surridge father and son combo that then took over with dad Paul (61) hitting his maiden 50 for the Club and son Will falling just short with 41.  The damage was done and Caleb Deveson (10 not out) and Toby (4 not out) saw the team home for an impressive 7 wicket win with 7 overs to spare.

1s travelled to play Mote and was put into bat.  James Weller (45), Ricky Dale (12), Matt Lewis (25), Chris Hogg (17) and Ben Gunner (16) all started well but were unable to kick on and the team found themselves all out for 146 in the 43rd over.

Early wickets from Tyler Wassell (2 for 29) and Harry Mantle (2 for 34) put the pressure on  but a mid-order stand meant Mote reached the target with 5 wickets and 3.4 overs to spare

There was no Sunday game this weekend
