The 2s chased down 79 in another low scoring match to stay top of their league.
Play ing at home the 2s decided to bowl in what proved to be a good decision. Ethan Collier (1 for 13) broke through with the first wicket when the score was on 10 however, their opponents Holcombe and Bluebell rallied reaching 46 with no further loss. Archie Covey (4 for 15) removed the stubborn pair and wickets tumbled thereafter with no further batsman reaching double figures. Archie supported by Adam Rayner who took 3 for 8 and Dan Covey’s 1 for 5 combined with a runout from Will Surridge saw the visitors all out for 79 in the 32nd over.
Holcombe picked up and early wicket and with a good opening attack it was important not to lose wickets. Paul and Will Surridge saw the majority of the openers overs allowing Chris Knope (29) and Adam (28 no) to knock the runs off with 11.2 overs and 5 wickets to spare.
The 1s travelled to Linton Park and elected to field whick looked initially to be a good decision when Joe Mills (1 for 17 from 9 overs) picked up an early wicket. The home team dug in and the top and middle order batted well creating small but valuable partnerships reaching 195 for 7 from their allotted 45 overs. Ricky Dale (2 for 41) and Tom Carey (2 for 41) both picked up a pair and Harry Mantle (1 for 38) and Haris Khan (1 for 58) picking up the other two wickets
James Weller (31) and Tom Carey (23) got the team off to a good start but wickets fell regularly as the team found themselves all out for 156 in the 44th over. Ricky Dale (24), Will Cosstick (13) and Nick Page (10) being the other batsman to reach double figures.
The 3s travelled to Old Wilsonians with just 10 men and were put into the field. Their openers bat well reaching 147 before the loss of the first wicket. Amith Lokesh (2 for 34) and Aaryan Rajgor (2 for 61) picked up wickets as the home team reached 222 for 4 off their 40 overs
It was a steep hill to climb and with Kev Miles hobbling off injured at the end of the first innings the hill got steeper. Arayan (11) and Amith (18) got the team off to a steady start and Tony Hadfield chipped in with 10. A captains inning from Linc Bryden (45) supported by Ollie Julier returning from injury (14) added runs to the score but the team could only must 115 for 7 off the 40 overs against some good bowling.
