The 1s were at home to The Mote and elected to bat. Tom Carey (49) and James Weller (31) got the team off to a solid start.  Chris Knope (30), Owen Harrison (35) and Nick Page (21) all added to the score as the team reached a respectable 216 for 7 off their 40 overs.

Owen Harrison (1 or 34) got the team off to a great start picking up an early wicket but the visitors top order looked strong and despite losing a couple of wickets including a great catch from Harry Mantle, they kept up with the required run rate.  A good catch at deep mid-on from Owen off Tom removed the danger man and broke the back of The Mote’s innings and with Tom Carey (3 for 40) and Harry Mantle (3 for 31) picking up wickets at the end the visitors were kept to 199 for 9 of their 45 overs.  Ricky Dale (1 or 26) and Haris Khan (1 for 40 ) picking up the other wickets

The 2s travelled New Ash Green  knowing that their pitch was difficult to play on and on winning the toss decided to put the home team into to bat. The decision seemed to perfect as New Ash Green crumbled to 98 in 27 overs with Ethan Collier (3 for 30), Ben Wiebe-Williams (3 for 33), Henry Louden (2 for 4) and Danish Zia (1 for 18) all picking up wickets.

Unfortunately the tables were turned as the team collapsed to 53 all out with only Yuvraj Rajgor (13) and Tom Gunner (14) making double figures.

The 3s were at home to Chelsfield and put the visitors into bat.  Phil Danbury (1 for 32) and Yawar Hanif (1 for 22) backed up that decision as Chelsfield found themselves 17 for 2.  Unfortunately they re-grouped and despite some good bowling the reached 230 for 5 off their 40 overs.  Jay Sharma, Simon Rose and Isaac Gregory-Bourne picking up the other wickets

Hoping to repeat the game against Chelsfield earlier in the year. Chris Wood (49) and Kev Miles (15) started well and hopes were raised and even at 82 for 2 it was still possible but unfortunately 3 quick wickets turned it to 88 for 5. Caleb Deveson played anchor role to support Chris but Chris fell shortly afterwards.  Josh Rose (14) batted well as did Jay Sharma and Isaac as the team tried to reach the 1st batting points but fell short by just 3 run as the team were bowled all for 137 with only two balls of the innings remaining.

The Sunday XI were at home to Norton Sports in the local cup round robin and looking for a win to reach the final.

Ben Wiebe-Williams (2 for 12) took a wicket with the first ball of the match and again 12 runs later supported well by Haris Khan (0 for 27).  Norton started to re-build but Amith Lokesh (2 for 22) made the breakthrough.  Winston Roe (1 or 9)  picked up his first wicket at removing the danger man and followed it up with a caught and bowled while being supported by Isaac Gregory-Bourne (0 for 20) at the other end.  Yuvraj Rajgor also got his first senior wicket (1 for 4) with a spell binding 4 overs and Caleb Deveson (1 for 9) off 7 overs (…. well actually 1 over but felt like 7) allowed Aaryan Rajgor (1 for 4) to mop up as Norton were bowled out for 113 in the 29th over.

Norton picked up a couple of early wickets (Aaryan Rajgor 13) but Tom Carey (32 retired) and Sohan Jaganatha (7) who scored his first runs at senior level and batted with the straightest bat the Club had seen in years moved the score along.  Amith Lokesh (44 no) helped by Caleb (2) who unfortunately gave his Dad,  Mark playing for Norton, bragging rights as Caleb was caught behind of Mark’s bowling, sealed the win with 6 wickets and 17 overs to spare.

The game was played in great spirit and both teams thoroughly enjoyed the day and reminded everyone what true grass root cricket is all about.

Bapchild captain Henry Louden lost the toss and was invited to bat first.  Rodmersham bowling attack showed their form taking wickets at regular intervals with a variety of swing and spin bowling.

Having posted a low score the Bears still gave their all in the field with Elliott Pudner taking a great catch and Aaryan Rajgor taking 3 wickets in his 4 over spell but it wasn’t to be and Rodmersham emerged as winners on the day

The 1s were away to Street End and were put into bat

The team started well reaching 55 for 1 but with the removal of Owen Harrison (18) and James Weller (23) the team slumped to 76 for 5.  James Sutton’s 30 helped the team reach 135 before they were bowled all out at the end of the 43rd over.

Ricky Dale (1 for 22) picked up an early wicket supported well by Tyler Wassell (0 for 11) and with wickets from Owen Harrison (1 for 24) and Tom Carey  (2 for 25) the team looked like they had an outside chance as the home team found themselves 64 for 4. Despite the teams efforts no more wickets fell and Street End crossed the line in the 26th over.

The 2s were home to Borstal and were put into the field.  Ethan Collier (3 for 25) and Adam Rayner (2 for 18) got the team off to a great start removing the two openers without either of them scoring a run with further wickets falling shortly afterwards.  Henry Louden (5 overs 0 for 10) and Lee Cogger (7 overs 0 for 17) kept the pressure on and Danish Zia (2 for 17) and Archie Covey (1 for 6) mopping up the visitors were all out 102 in the 36th over.

Paul Surridge (37) and Rob Kennett (15) got the team off to a perfect start and Ben Fulton (36 no) and Will Surridge (8 no) finished off as the team reached the target in the 18th over just two wickets down.

The 3s travelled to New Ash Green and were put into the field. Phil Danbury (2 for 5) and Simon Rose (2 for 16) had the home team 3 for 10.  Emily Surridge (1 for 3) quickly removed the remaining opener and Yawar Hanif’s brace saw New Ash Green fall to 36 for 6.   The home team’s lower order  rallied until Jay Sharma broke the stand through a fine stumping by Will Roe and Will picked up the last wicket with a catch behind as Phil returned for his second spell as New Ash Green were bowled out for 106 at the start of the 30th over.

Chris Wood (17) and Simon Rose (36) got the team off to a good start with a 51 run opening partnership.  Tony Hadfield (25) added to the score and with only 10 runs needed and 8 wickets left it look a comfortable win.  However 5 wickets fell before Jay Sharma and William Roe got the team over the line in the 31st over.

After the success of the June meeting against Bearsted it was decided to hold a inter-club match.   With good turn out and some budding crickets the evening was very enjoyable and well supported by the club members.  Every one enjoyed the cricket that was played in great spirt as well as the BBQ that followed.

On a warm humid evening theymet Rodmersham for their 12th league game of the season. Bees captain Jake lost the toss and Bapchild were invited to bat first.
After a solid start Charlie took the game to Rodmersham smashing 3 fours in his score of 14 and this set the tone.
Spencer and Sidney the last batting pair both hit boundaries and batted aggressively with the Bees reaching their best score of the season of 281 at the close of their innings.

Rodmersham openers started well scoring freely despite Sidney picking up a wicket and supported well by Christian.  Connie,  Brook and Jake bowled well and when Charlie took two wickets in two balls just missing out on a well deserved hat-trick Bapchild looked like they may be in the chase for their first victory.   Unfortunately despite good fielding by the team and tight bowling by Toby and Spencer including Spencer picking up a wicket in the last over Rodmersham sneaked ahead and Bapchild despite their valiant efforts just couldn’t take the wickets they needed for their first victory of the season.

A superb game of cricket enjoyed by players and spectators alike and a great advertisement for the Swale Under 12 league.

The 1st entertained Chestfield CC and decided to bat first.   Progress was slow against a good bowling attack but James Weller (58) hit his 6th half century of the season to go with his two tons. The team hit out in the later pater of the game and an excellent 59 no from Ricky Dale including a “Buttler” style 27 from the penultimate over and supported well by Nick Page (36) meant the team ended on a respectable 231 for 8 off their 45 overs

The visitors got off to a strong start reaching 61 for none before Ricky Dale broke the partnership.   Ricky’s 1 for 14 off 9 overs combined with Tom Carey’s 3 for 32 removed the wind from Chestfield’s batting.  Amith Lokesh’s 4 for 43 continued the fine work as the visitors fell 42 runs short of the target at the close of play.  Archie Covey and Harry Mantle also bowling well.

The 2s travelled to Gravesend and were put into the field and despite an early wicket the top and middle order of the home team put on runs as they reached 209 for 8 in their 40 overs.  Daniel Covey (4 for 70), Allan Hampton (2 for 24) and Tom Gunner (1 for 39) picking up the wickets.

A trio of early wickets put the team under pressure but Alan (34) Chris Knope (32) and Chris Hogg (27 no) looked to salvage the innings but wickets continued to fall as the team found themselves all out for 159 with one ball to go.

The 3s were home to local derby with Sheppey and were put into bat.  After an early wicket Glenn Kennett (86 no) and Kev Miles (21) started to rebuild.  After Kev’s dismissal Tony Hadfield enter the fray and pushed the ball round the field comfortably.  Would the man who has scored 40+ many times make his mark and although almost missed by the scorers he did indeed for the first time in his Bapchild career receive the applause for a maiden half century.  Congratulations Tony we look forward to many more.  After Tony flush with success was dismissed on 55 Paul Surridge stepped up to the plate and hit a quick fire 55 meaning at the end of the innings the team has reached an impressive 232 for 4.

Linc Bryden (2 for 1) got the team off to the perfect start as the visitors found themselves 7 for 2. Phil Danbury (1 for 27) and Danish Zia (2 for 20) kept the pressure on together with Emily Surridge (1 for 29) and Ella Hadler (2 for  31) and Will Surridge (1 for 22) helped by a catch from father Paul saw Sheppey reach just 133 for 9 in reply.

The Sunday XI played in a league game against Gore Court and put the home team into bat.     One batsman made all the difference scoring 137 of the 230 runs scored however the team stuck to their guns and Isaac Gregory-Bourne in his first season playing senior cricket picked up his first five wicket haul taking 5 for 20 in just 5 overs.

After team a six batsmans made double figures but none were able to kick on.  Ben Wiebe-Williams (31), Ethan Collier (24), Haris Khan (23) being the higest scorers as the team were bowled out in the 37th over for 160.

The 1s travelled Minster and was put into the field. Ben Wiebe-Williams struck twice early doors to put the home team under pressure.  Tom Carey (1 for 30)  added to the pressure but a partnership mid-order saw Minster recover.   Archie Covey (1 for 28) broke the partnership and when Tyler Wassell returned for for his second spell he ripped through the remaining batsman ending on the excellent figures of 9 overs 4 for 11.  Harry Mantle (1 for 48) and Ben (3 for 48) finished off the home team innings with the scrore on 172 at teh start of the 37th over.

Matt Lewis (5) fell early but a destructive partnership from Tom Carey (79) and James Weller (38) ensured the team won comfortably with 6 wickets and 24 overs to spare.

The 2s were at home to Sheppey and elected to field.  With an early wicket from Haris Khan (1 for 27) it looked like the decision but a century and half century from the two batsman at the crease meant the visitors reached 219 for 4 from their 40 overs.

Rob Kennett (36) and Aaryan Rajgor (19) got the team off to a steady start despite accurate bowling from the visitors.  Unfortunately it meant the team got behind the run rate and Will Cosstick (20) and Adam Rayner were both caught trying to move the score along.   With just a few overs left it looked like the team would fall well short of the target and a big hitting display from Chris Hogg (68 no) and Tom Gunner (25 no) meant the team finished a mere 12 runs short and gaining valuable bonus points on the way.

The 3s travelled to GNC CC GRFC and was put into the field.  Simon Rose bowled well picking up two early wickets (6 overs 2 for 10).  GNC’s overseas player marshalled the batting and looked settled in but a unbelievable catch from Danih Zia dismissed him on 60 and from that point the home team collapsed with Yawar Hanif picking up 4 wickets (4 for 42) and Danish picking up the other wickets (1 for 27) as GNC found themselves all out in the 25th over for 103

Kev Miles (33) and Simon Rose (39 no) got the team of to a solid start and Tony Hadfield (22 no) saw the team home with 17 overs and 9 wickets to spare

The Sunday XiI travelled to play Kent Royals (Hollingbourne) and again were putinto the field.  The first seven batsman all reached double fiqures but the team kept at the task picking up wickets up on a regular basis restricting them to 179 for 9 in their 40 overs.  Ben Wiebe-Wiliams (3 for 25) and Ella Hadler (2 for 21) picking up 5 of the wickets while Ethan Collier (1 for 6) Haris Khan (1 for 19), Aryan Rajgor (1 for 35) and Isaac Gregory-Bourne(1 for 15) picking up one each.

James Weller (5) fell early followed shortly by Tom Carey (20) and Aaryan (18) .  Things looked deperate but Amith Lokesh (21), Owen Harrison (44) and Ethan Collier (42 no) got the team so close but the Home team managed to shut the door with Bapchild just 2 runs short of the total.

The 1s travelled to Leeds & Broomfield and were put into bat Matt Lewis (35) and James Weller (24) got the team off to a good start with a 59 run opening partnership.  Chris Knope (27) and Owen Harrison (24) carried on the good work building a solid platform as the team reached 144 for 3.  However,  5 wickets  for just 10 runs brought the home team back into the game.  Ben Wiebe-Williams (20) and Tyler Wassell (17) put on a 39 run partnership for the 9th wicket before the team was finally bowled out for 190 in the 39th over.

Leeds & Broomfield always a strong batting line up started well but two wickets in quick succession left them 89 for 3.  However,  their mid-order carried on from where the top order had started and they crossed the line with 4 wickets and 5 overs to spare. Tyler Wassell (2 for 46), Amith Lokesh (2 for 29) and Owen Harrison (1 for 26) picking up the wickets.

The 2s were at home to Upchurch and were put into the field.  The opening batsman score well before being pegged back.  Unfortunately a middle order partnership saw the runs continue rack up as the visitors ended their innings on 230 for 9 and probably 40 runs more than they should have had. Adam Rayner 4 for 22 off 7 overs being the pick of the bowling.

Three quick wickets after tea left the team struggling but a steady partnership from Adam Rayner (30) and Aaryan Rajgor scoring a back to back 50 put them back into contention.  Ethan Collier (31), Toby Heather (17) and Tom Gunner (19) almost got the team over the line but in the end they came up just 20 runs finishing on 210 for 9.

The 3s entertained Linton Park and were put into the field.  Phil Danbury ripped through the top order taking an excellent 4 for 24 off 9 overs supported well by captain Linc Bryden (5 overs 0 for 12).   Joshua Rose bowled well for his 4 overs, 0 for 15 which should have been 1 for 11, had he been supported better by his captain.  Emily Surridge bowling for the first time in Senior cricket proved her all rounder skills as she took 4 for 6 in her devastating 4 over spell.  Isaac Gregory-Bourne’s (1 for 19) tidied up at the end as the visitors found themselves all out for 83 in the 28th over.

Glenn Kennett (14)  and Simon Rose (48 no) got the team off to a good start and 14 no for Tony Hadfield saw the 3s cross the line in the 21st over with 8 wickets to spare gaining 20 valuable points.

The Sunday XI hosted Leybourne who decided to bat. their top 5 all reached double figures. James Weller (2 for 21), Dan Covey (1 for 29) and Ben Gregory-Bourne finally removing the stubbon to order between them. After that the remaining batsman only score 6 between them as Ben (3 for 37) and son Isaac (2 for 24) whipped through the tail end leaving the visitors on 166 for 8 at the close of the innings.

Leybourne’s opening bowlers took 4 quick wickets after tea and the team looked on the back foot however a superb 67 no from James Weller supported by Ben Wiebe-Williams (21), Dan Covey (26) and Amith Lokesh (11 no) saw the team home with 4 wickets and 4 overs to spare.

Broncos captain Elliott Chapman  had led by example bowling beautifully in his 3 over spell earlier and a superb catch at square leg by Harvey Rowe together with two run outs and some good fielding held the Sheldwich- in check

Some decent batting by Bapchild kept them in the hunt and Elliott Chapman tee’d off in the last over hitting 3 consecutive sixes but Bapchild fell short of their target at close of play.

That first elusive win this season is just around the corner

The 1s were at home to Folkestone and was put into the field.   Folkestone batted steadily with Bapchild picking up three wickets however a middle or stand meant the visitors ended up on 222 for 7 after their 45 overs. Ben Wiebe-Williams (2 for 52), Ricky Dale (2 for 47), Kesha Rajadurai (2 for 41) and Tyler Wassell (1 for 29) picking up the wickets.

After tea the team were going well on 130 for 4 after 26 overs before lightening brought the game to an end as the match was abandoned.  Mike Willis was on 71 no at the time and going strong

The 2nd XI had a similar story in their away match against Gore Court.  Gore Court found themselves all out in the 34th over for 132.  Haris Khan (4 for 21), Henry Louden (3 for 22), Adam Rayner (2 for 36) picking up the wickets.

The team never got to bat as the storm meant the game was abandoned.

The 3s faired better with the weather in their visit to Town Malling although they did play for some considerable time in the rain

After electing to field a strong Ton Malling batting line up proved difficult to breakdown as they put 208 for 2 in their 40 overs. Simon Rose (1 for 38) picking up the only wicket.

The chase was always going to be difficult especially when Chris Wood has to retire hurt due to an injury obtained when fielding.  Kev Miles (19) and Simon Rose got the team to 50 before the first wicket and Simon carried the team as wickets fell reaching 87 no at the end of the innings with the score on 141 for 5.

Sunday XI were at home to Staplehurst and got off to an excellent start after being put into bat.  Opener James Weller reached 61 before being caught and bowled and Yuvraj Rajgor was joined by his younger brother Aaryan.  Both batted superbly and was almost ruined when Yuvraj run a very close 2nd run to bring up his maiden century for the Club.  he went on to score 153 before being caught.  Not to be out done Aaryan (50 no) scored his maiden half century for the Club as the tea reached an impressive 286 for 3 off their 40 overs.

Both opening bowlers bowled well at the start (Ethan Collier 5 overs 0 for 9, and Archic Covey 5 overs 2 for 17).  Isaac Gregory-Bourne (3 for 20) continued to take wickets in his first season at senior level.  Toby Heather (1 for 15) and Aaryan (2 for 1) finished off the game as Staplehurst found themselves all out in the 26th over
