The 1s travelled to Nonninton and decided to field.

Nonnington started steadily before Owen Harrison (1 for 16) made the breakthrough.  The home team then put on a 51 run partnership but the momentum shift back to Bapchild’s as 5 wickets fell for just 21 runs.  A forty run partnership from the lower middle order moved the score on but two more wickets fell as Nonnington reached 170 for 8 in their 45 overs.  The bowling attack all bowled well with Tom Carey (3 for 30) , Harry Mantle (1 for 20), Kesha Rajadurai (1 for 22) and Amith Lokesh (1 for 31) sharing the wickets.

The team lost an early wicket but Tom Carey (39) and James Weller (36) put on a 62 run partnership.  Unfortunately after that stand was broken the team couldn’t out together another big stand as wickets fell regularly.  Ben Wiebe-Williams hit a fine 38 but no other batsman was able to reach double figures as the team was bowled out at the start of the 42nd over for 169 just 1 run short of Nonnington’s score

The 2s were battling relegation at the start of the weekend and were up against 2nd in the league Southfleet.   Southfleet with one of the best bowling attacks in the league elected to field and were in the wickets early doors and throughout the innings.   Alan Hampton (25) and Chris Hogg (18 no) helped by Lee Cogger (4 no) managed to get the team to 111 for 9 in their 40 overs.   Top score extras also helping greatly.

With just a small total defend the visitors felt confident but hadn’t faced Ethan in the match at their ground earlier in the season.  Ethan bowled accurately apart from two balls moving the ball both ways at good pace which proved too much for the visitors line up. Six of his victims were bowled as he picked up 7 wickets for just 13 runs in his 33 ball spell.    Adam Rayner (3 for 12) at the other end bowled equally as well giving Southfleet no respite to recover and regroup.  The team’s fielding was also exceptional and it was fitting that Ethan took two wickets in two balls to end the visitors innings in the 11th over for just 25 runs.  The 20 point win moved the team to 7th place and 18 points above relegation with just two games to go.

The 3s travelled to Orpington Ocelots and was put into bat. Chris Wood (12) and Simon Rose (87 no) got the team off to the perfect start reaching 50 runs before Chris was given out LBW.  Yuvraj Rajgor (20) added to the score before being caught.   Paul Surridge (46) entered the fray and scored freely putting on a 84 run partnership with Simon  before being run out.  Dan Covey chipped in with 11 at the end as the team reached a very respectable 200 for 4 off their 40 overs.  Danish Zia (2 for 21) picked up early wickets supported by Lincoln Bryden (1 for 19).  Dan Covey’s 4 for 37 and two run outs removed the middle order and combined with good tight bowling by Emily Surridge (0 for 26), Joshua Rose (0 for 14) and Ella Hadler (0 for 20) the home team reached just 143 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs. The

team is now sitting 5th in the league and looking for their best ever season finish.

The Sunday XI tralled to  to the beautiful Penshurst Park Cricket Club which sits in the grounds of Penshurst Place.   Put in the field by the league leaders and despite good bowling and an unusual outfield the home team scored freely.  reaching 113 for 0 at 20 over mark.  The team battled on and manage to peg Penshurst back from what could have been an extremely high score. The home team finished on 268 for 7 off their 40 overs.  Ben Wiebe-Williams 2 for 56, Owen Harrison (1 for 25) Aaryan Rajgor (1 for 40) and Amith Lokesh (1 for 30) picking up the wickets.  The Rajgor brothers both picking up a runout each.

The home teams bowling attack was as good as their batting attack and the team found it hard to score freely.  Tom Carey (62) Ben Wiebe-Williams (38) Owen Harrison (35) and James Weller (17) all making double figures as the team reached 184 for 5 att he end of the game.

Bapchild CC U12 Inter-Club – August 2026

With games every week for 16 weeks and no breaks in between this was the first chance for an inter-club match this season . Katie Kennard and Harvey Rowe were elected captains and Harvey won the toss and invited Katie’s team to bat first .

Some good batting early on from Caycee Coveney (15) gave the innings momentum and Elliott Chapman hit a quick fire 27 to push the score along nicely.
But young Reuben Chapman playing in his first ever competitive match put the brakes on with an amazing bowling spell of 2 overs 4 wickets for 1 run to reduce Katie’s team to 266 for 7
With the weather closing in Saharsh Kopperla took bat to ball from the start scoring a splendid 24 runs. But with just 6 overs gone in Harvey’s teams innings the heavens opened with something rarely see this summer ……. RAIN !! and with the light fading sadly the game had to be abandoned and the result  a draw .

The 1s entertained Kings Hill at the weekend and decided to bat first.  Three early wickets put the team under pressure but Nick Page (66) steadied the ship supported by Mike Willis (27), Joe Mills (12) and Ricky Dale (27) as they recovered to reach 179 before being bowled out in the 45th over.

Bapchild returned the favour by also taking three quick wickets as the start of the visitors innings, Owen Harrison (3 for 38) picking up a brace and Tyler Wassell (2 for 34) picking up the other.   Kings Hill dug in with the next wicket partnership putting on runs.  Ricky Dale and Tyler made the breakthroughs removing both danger men.  Joe Mills (1 for 35) picked up a wicket and Owen returned to pick up his third but Ricky (4 for 26) mopped up the tail as Kings Hill were bowled out in the 40th over for 160 leaving the 19 runs short.

The 2s travelled to top of the league GNC CC and were put into the field.  Ethan Collier (2 for 19) picked two early wickets supported well by Ben Wiebe-Williams (0 for 27).   Lee Cogger (3 for 32) and Adam Rayner (2 for 12) never let the home team settle.  Henry Louden (2 for 27) and Alan Hampton (1 for 13) carried on the good work as the league leaders found themselves all out for 152 in the 34th over

Yuvraj Rajgor (13) and Alan Hampton (11) started steadily but as wickets fell it was captain Adam Rayner (52) supported by James Newman (16), Amith Lokesh (10) and Ben (15 no) edge to team to just 11 runs being needed with 5 wickets remaining.  Unfortunately a one stump run out to remove Adam then saw the four remaining batsman being removed without any of them scoring as the home team scapped home with 7 runs to spare.   However a valuable 14 points were scored on the day

The 3s also played their league leaders The Mote and deided to bat.  Chris Wood (35) and Kev Miles (41) got the team off to the perfect start reaching 85 before the partnership was broken.  Unfortunately only Caleb Deveson (11 no) was the only other player to make double figures as the team struggled under a good bowling attack to reach 130 for 6 off their 40 overs

The Mote passed the target in 23 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.  Danish Zia (2 for 20), Phil Danbury (1 for 31) and Isaac Gregory-Bourne (1 for 7) picking up the wickets

The Sunday XI did not have a game this weekend

All Bapchild bowlers took wickets picking up 14 over all but pick of the bowlers were William Filmer with 4 wickets and Elliott Chapman with his first 5 wicket haul returning figures of 3 overs 5 wickets for just 9 runs

Chasing just 207 Bapchild batted sensibly picking up singles and pushing the score along nicely. With a substantial lead and game almost won last batting pair Elliot Chapman (24)  and William Filmer (21) put bat to ball.
The Broncos ended their innings with their highest score of the season with 325 and securing a great win and hopefully the first of many.

The 1s were away to Rodmersham in the local derby. On winning the toss the team elected to bat.  James Weller (31) and Matt Lewis (18) got the team off to a steady start with Chris Knope and Owen Harrison also making double figures.  A good partnership from Nick Page (25) and Mike Willis (31) moved the score along and James Sutton (14) and Amith Lokesh (41 no) moved the score swiftly on at the end as the team reached 215 for 8 off their 45 overs.

Rodmersham responded strongly until Joe Mills (2 for 31) made the breakthrough with a caught an bowled and followed it up shortly afterwards with a second wicket.  Rodmersham’s overseas batted well and the team tried  to support him but no major partnership could be put together as wickets fell regularly. It looked like rodmersham could make the target until Harry Mantle (2 for 39) dismissed the overseas danger man leaving the home team requiring 78 from 14 overs and 6 wickets standing.  Owen Harrison (3 for 32) and Tyler Wassell (1 for 33) returned to remove the middle order and Rodmersham fell away from the chase still requiring 24 runs at the end of play.

The 2s were at home to bottom of the league Harvel. Haris Khan (2 for 35) picked up early wickets but the middle order rallied until Adam Rayner picked up 4 wickets for 38 to peg them back to 167 for 8 off their 40 overs.  Henry Louden (1 for 19) and Ben Wiebe-Williams (1 for 15) picking up the other wickets.

The team felt confident in the chase but the opening bowlers sliced through the batting as the team found themselves 27 for 7 in quick time. Adam Rayner (31) and Ethan Collier (14) put up some resistence but the team was bowled out for 72 in the 24th over.

The 3s travelled to top team Dartford and was put into ba.   Wickets fell regularly and despite captain Lincoln Bryden (42) and Jay Sharma (19 no) valiant efforts the team found themselves out for 155 on the last ball of the innings.

Father and son, Ben and Isaac Gregory-Bourne (1 for 24), combined to pick up the only wicket after tea as the home team crossed the line in the 23rd over with 9 wickets to spare

Sunday saw the Club host Norton Sports for the second weekend in a row this time in a KVL match.  Deciding to bat the team lost an early wicket but a good stand between  Yuvraj Rajgor  (59) suppported by Owen Harrison (30) followed by an excellent knock from skipper Ben Wiebe-Wiliiams (71 no) with Caleb Deveson chipping in with 13 as the team reached 207 for 6 off their 40 overs

Haris Khan (0 for 11) and Amith Lokesh (0 for 23) bowled well but a spell  binding 9 overs from Aaryan Rajgor saw him take 8 wickets for 21 runs.  Henry Louden (1 for 26) chipped in and brother Yuvraj Rajgor picked up the last wicket in just two balls and Norton were bowled out for 120 in the 30th over

The 1s were at home to The Mote and elected to bat. Tom Carey (49) and James Weller (31) got the team off to a solid start.  Chris Knope (30), Owen Harrison (35) and Nick Page (21) all added to the score as the team reached a respectable 216 for 7 off their 40 overs.

Owen Harrison (1 or 34) got the team off to a great start picking up an early wicket but the visitors top order looked strong and despite losing a couple of wickets including a great catch from Harry Mantle, they kept up with the required run rate.  A good catch at deep mid-on from Owen off Tom removed the danger man and broke the back of The Mote’s innings and with Tom Carey (3 for 40) and Harry Mantle (3 for 31) picking up wickets at the end the visitors were kept to 199 for 9 of their 45 overs.  Ricky Dale (1 or 26) and Haris Khan (1 for 40 ) picking up the other wickets

The 2s travelled New Ash Green  knowing that their pitch was difficult to play on and on winning the toss decided to put the home team into to bat. The decision seemed to perfect as New Ash Green crumbled to 98 in 27 overs with Ethan Collier (3 for 30), Ben Wiebe-Williams (3 for 33), Henry Louden (2 for 4) and Danish Zia (1 for 18) all picking up wickets.

Unfortunately the tables were turned as the team collapsed to 53 all out with only Yuvraj Rajgor (13) and Tom Gunner (14) making double figures.

The 3s were at home to Chelsfield and put the visitors into bat.  Phil Danbury (1 for 32) and Yawar Hanif (1 for 22) backed up that decision as Chelsfield found themselves 17 for 2.  Unfortunately they re-grouped and despite some good bowling the reached 230 for 5 off their 40 overs.  Jay Sharma, Simon Rose and Isaac Gregory-Bourne picking up the other wickets

Hoping to repeat the game against Chelsfield earlier in the year. Chris Wood (49) and Kev Miles (15) started well and hopes were raised and even at 82 for 2 it was still possible but unfortunately 3 quick wickets turned it to 88 for 5. Caleb Deveson played anchor role to support Chris but Chris fell shortly afterwards.  Josh Rose (14) batted well as did Jay Sharma and Isaac as the team tried to reach the 1st batting points but fell short by just 3 run as the team were bowled all for 137 with only two balls of the innings remaining.

The Sunday XI were at home to Norton Sports in the local cup round robin and looking for a win to reach the final.

Ben Wiebe-Williams (2 for 12) took a wicket with the first ball of the match and again 12 runs later supported well by Haris Khan (0 for 27).  Norton started to re-build but Amith Lokesh (2 for 22) made the breakthrough.  Winston Roe (1 or 9)  picked up his first wicket at removing the danger man and followed it up with a caught and bowled while being supported by Isaac Gregory-Bourne (0 for 20) at the other end.  Yuvraj Rajgor also got his first senior wicket (1 for 4) with a spell binding 4 overs and Caleb Deveson (1 for 9) off 7 overs (…. well actually 1 over but felt like 7) allowed Aaryan Rajgor (1 for 4) to mop up as Norton were bowled out for 113 in the 29th over.

Norton picked up a couple of early wickets (Aaryan Rajgor 13) but Tom Carey (32 retired) and Sohan Jaganatha (7) who scored his first runs at senior level and batted with the straightest bat the Club had seen in years moved the score along.  Amith Lokesh (44 no) helped by Caleb (2) who unfortunately gave his Dad,  Mark playing for Norton, bragging rights as Caleb was caught behind of Mark’s bowling, sealed the win with 6 wickets and 17 overs to spare.

The game was played in great spirit and both teams thoroughly enjoyed the day and reminded everyone what true grass root cricket is all about.

Bapchild captain Henry Louden lost the toss and was invited to bat first.  Rodmersham bowling attack showed their form taking wickets at regular intervals with a variety of swing and spin bowling.

Having posted a low score the Bears still gave their all in the field with Elliott Pudner taking a great catch and Aaryan Rajgor taking 3 wickets in his 4 over spell but it wasn’t to be and Rodmersham emerged as winners on the day

The team started well reaching 55 for 1 but with the removal of Owen Harrison (18) and James Weller (23) the team slumped to 76 for 5.  James Sutton’s 30 helped the team reach 135 before they were bowled all out at the end of the 43rd over.

Ricky Dale (1 for 22) picked up an early wicket supported well by Tyler Wassell (0 for 11) and with wickets from Owen Harrison (1 for 24) and Tom Carey  (2 for 25) the team looked like they had an outside chance as the home team found themselves 64 for 4. Despite the teams efforts no more wickets fell and Street End crossed the line in the 26th over.

The 2s were home to Borstal and were put into the field.  Ethan Collier (3 for 25) and Adam Rayner (2 for 18) got the team off to a great start removing the two openers without either of them scoring a run with further wickets falling shortly afterwards.  Henry Louden (5 overs 0 for 10) and Lee Cogger (7 overs 0 for 17) kept the pressure on and Danish Zia (2 for 17) and Archie Covey (1 for 6) mopping up the visitors were all out 102 in the 36th over.

Paul Surridge (37) and Rob Kennett (15) got the team off to a perfect start and Ben Fulton (36 no) and Will Surridge (8 no) finished off as the team reached the target in the 18th over just two wickets down.

The 3s travelled to New Ash Green and were put into the field. Phil Danbury (2 for 5) and Simon Rose (2 for 16) had the home team 3 for 10.  Emily Surridge (1 for 3) quickly removed the remaining opener and Yawar Hanif’s brace saw New Ash Green fall to 36 for 6.   The home team’s lower order  rallied until Jay Sharma broke the stand through a fine stumping by Will Roe and Will picked up the last wicket with a catch behind as Phil returned for his second spell as New Ash Green were bowled out for 106 at the start of the 30th over.

Chris Wood (17) and Simon Rose (36) got the team off to a good start with a 51 run opening partnership.  Tony Hadfield (25) added to the score and with only 10 runs needed and 8 wickets left it look a comfortable win.  However 5 wickets fell before Jay Sharma and William Roe got the team over the line in the 31st over.

After the success of the June meeting against Bearsted it was decided to hold a inter-club match.   With good turn out and some budding crickets the evening was very enjoyable and well supported by the club members.  Every one enjoyed the cricket that was played in great spirt as well as the BBQ that followed.

On a warm humid evening theymet Rodmersham for their 12th league game of the season. Bees captain Jake lost the toss and Bapchild were invited to bat first.
After a solid start Charlie took the game to Rodmersham smashing 3 fours in his score of 14 and this set the tone.
Spencer and Sidney the last batting pair both hit boundaries and batted aggressively with the Bees reaching their best score of the season of 281 at the close of their innings.

Rodmersham openers started well scoring freely despite Sidney picking up a wicket and supported well by Christian.  Connie,  Brook and Jake bowled well and when Charlie took two wickets in two balls just missing out on a well deserved hat-trick Bapchild looked like they may be in the chase for their first victory.   Unfortunately despite good fielding by the team and tight bowling by Toby and Spencer including Spencer picking up a wicket in the last over Rodmersham sneaked ahead and Bapchild despite their valiant efforts just couldn’t take the wickets they needed for their first victory of the season.

A superb game of cricket enjoyed by players and spectators alike and a great advertisement for the Swale Under 12 league.
