Weather 3 Bapchild 1

bcc-bg1

The weather scored 3 out of 3 on Saturday by causing all 3 senior games to be cancelled with only the Sunday XI managing to get a game in over the weekend.

The Sunday XI were at home to High Halstow who elected to bat first.  Tom Gunner (2 for 38) and Anthony Burbury (3 for 45) picked up three early wickets and the pressure was on the visiting team. However a century from their no.4 batsman stretched the total.  The team bowled well picking up 8 wickets in total as High Halstow reached 211 in their 40 overs. Daniel Covey 1 for 23 and Glenn Kennett 2 for 25 picking up the other wickets.

Captain for the day James Weller scored 32 but unfortunately only two other batsman made double figures (James Sutton 17, Lincoln Bryden 10) as they found themselves all out and 92 runs in the 36th over.

The U14s lost to Sherwood being bowled out for 85 and the opposition knocking them off in the 15th over with 8 wickets to spare

The U16s were at home to Rodmersham scoring 37 in the first 10 overs.  Jack Louden (32) pushed the score  along and the team reached a respectable 110 for 9 in their 20 overs.

Jack Louden was back in action taking 3 for 10 in his 4 over spell and well supported by Dhylan Smith (1 for 2).  Rodmersham worked hard to get back in the game but Jay Sharma (3 for 15) broke the back of their middle order and some fine bowling from Sophie Hogben, Ben Hooker and Will Surridge who removed the last dangerous batsman meant the visitors found themselves all out just 19 runs short.
