Bapchild Barracudas
bapchild-barracudasThe Barracudas faced a difficult task in their first season playing against lads a year older than them and in many cases with 2 years cricket behind them. However, despite not winning a game there were some notable performances including an extremely close finish against Gore Court.

The side was ably led by Daniel Butcher who bought a quiet purposeful nature to his responsibilities. The bowling was led well by Dan Marshall, Henry Kitney, Tony Coates and Steve Goodhew. All have attributes which if nutured will ensure that they become promising cricketers for the future. The keeping was well looked after by Max TattonThe star of the show with the bat was Henry 'Boom Boom' Kitney who developed a number of shots that wouldn't have disgraced some of the Ashes tests this year. The highlight of the year was an unbeaten 50 against St Lawrence when Kitney continued to smash their bowlers straight and over extra cover with correct technique and a fantastic eye. This was followed by his Father claiming to have taught his son everything he knew. However, this was soon disproven by his own performance in the later season Parents vs. Kids game.

Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of the season was the continued support of the parents. At every game played by the boys the parents were out in force and out numbered the opponents on every occassion. The parents were both vocal and supporting and the lads always felt proud to perform for them. We hope that this is a mark of the way in which Bapchild operate and the welcoming nature of the coaches and senior players.
