Search Bapchild Cricket Club

Peter Unchingabove - Histhwaite

Dear Shrek,

While I am all for new technology ( I for example recently bought one of those clever new "thighpad" things), I am a little concerned about our system of voting for player of the week.

How is it possible for a club with possibly fourty or so playing members to have a player of the week winner get nearly eight thousand votes for a streaky 20 odd and a few cheap wickets when the man he was up against got a double hundred and an "eight for".

I fear dirty work is a foot and that access to computers of any kind be restricted to club officers only.

Yours respecfully,

Peter Unchingabove -  Histhwaite

Dear Mr Unchingabove - Histhwaite,

You wil find that those players who are unable to take the limelight any longer, because they cannot choose to bring themselves on to bowl when they like, will seek to use alternative methods by which to push themselves forward. It can only be an ego issue.

I have heard that people are able to doctor such online polls if they work in large corperations where they can get hundreds of work mates to vote for them, or even in schools where they can order ICT suites full of pupils to vote for them, under the threat of a 3 hour after school detention if they refuse. This may be a tactic that you see repeated in week 12.
