Tom Carey hit an impressive 140 to help beat The Mote on Saturday

The 1st XI travelled to The Mote and elected to bat.  Tom batted for the full 45 overs of the innings and finishing 140 not out.  He was well supported by opener James Weller (57) and Ricky Dale (40) as the team reached an impressive 280 for 3 off their allotted overs.

The Mote didn’t roll over and reached 229 for 5 in their reply with Tom Carey back in action (2 for 31) together with Tyler Wassell (2 for 50) and Ricky Dale (1 for 20 off) as the wicket takers.  A win by 51 runs.

 

The 2XI were at home to Wye and also decided to bat.   Wye picked up early wickets but William Cosstick (44) and Daniel Covey (15) put the breaks on and settled the team.   Linc Bryden’s 44 no and Adam Rayner (15) added to the total as the tem reached 176 for 9 off their 40 overs.

Wye started strong losing only one wicket to Ethan Collier (1 for 38) early on.  Daniel Covey (1 for 29) removed the opener and Alan Hampton (3 for 21) and Adam Rayner (2 for 28) removed the middle order cheaply.   It was a tight game but Wye managed to cross the line with just 3 balls and 2 wickets remaining.

 

 

The 3rd XI didn’t have a game this week

 

The Sunday XI were at home to Sheldwich who elected to bat.   Opener James Creed was dropped on 20 which proved to be unfortunate as he reached 119 before being dismissed by Tom Carey (1 for 31). Only the other opener reached double figures as the team fought back but the damage was done as the visitors reached 223 for 6 in theor allotted 40 overs. Ethan Collier (2 for 32) and Sophie Hogben (2 for 24) picking up the other wickets.

In reply openers James Weller (77) and Yuvraj Rajgor (26) started well with Dan Covey (15), Dhylan Smith (10), Anthony Burbury (17), Tom Carey (11) and Tom Gunner (10 no) all reaching double figures as the team reached 190 for 7 in reply

 

The U14s lost on Sunday to Faversham by 7 wickets with Bapchild reaching 115 for 5 in their 20 overs (Adesh Smith 23, Leo Bassett (18no) and Faversham just squeezing over the line with 3 balls to spare (Henry Louden 2 for 18, Sophie Hogben 1 for 19)

 

The U16s won their match against Minster on Monday scoring 147 for 3 in their 20 overs.  Minster were 110 for 5 in reply.
